RONNIEWe ended up thirty minutes out from the school at some restaurant famous for their burgers called Drew's. Apparently, Karlie and Omari had been there numerous times before and it was "truly no better burger". I begged to differ. One thing I picked up from Karlie is that rich people's tastebuds differed from us regular folk.
Or maybe it was just Karlie and my's tastebuds that differed, and I just wanted to categorize people with money like they categorize people without.
Karlie told me that I didn't have to dress up, yet when I opted for a graphic tee and some plain Levi jeans with some sneakers, she immediately looked horrified.
I didn't mind dressing up or getting a little cute when I was going out. It actually made me feel better and more confident. I guess my mood was trying to make me dress like it. I ended up wearing a one sleeved soft blue shirt with ripped white jeans and white sandals to match. Luckily, I also had a a purse that had an assortment of colors that complemented the soft blue. I straightened my hair and added a little wave to it. Feeling better since I felt cute, I applied some mascara and pink sheered lip gloss.
After Karlie and I started feeling ourselves a little too much, taking mirror selfies and pictures with each other, we ended up a little late. I didn't care about being on time while we were taking the pictures, but when Karlie informed me they were all already seated I wish that we had gotten there first.
And then, there they were. Three tall boys all sat on one side of the elongated booth, staring at Karlie and me. Although smiles had took over their faces, wide eyes had taken over mine. I didn't know what was worse: sitting directly across from strangers or sitting beside them, but I'm sure I was about to find out. Omari sat on the inside of the booth, while another beautiful dark skinned boy sat in the middle of the group, and a boy of another race sat on the outside. I wasn't exactly sure of what he was and I didn't want to be presumptuous.
They were all so handsome. It seemed unreal.
"Heyyy," Karlie embarrassingly sang as we approached the table. She moved in the front of the table before looking to me, motioning for me to sit on the inside. I bit my lip nervously sliding in. I didn't want to be directly in front of the middle boy, but I also didn't want to be directly in front of Omari.
As I was seated slightly between Omari and his friend, I still didn't make eye contact with Omari. I immediately aimed my attention at Karlie—who was sitting too close to me in this big ass booth—the other two guys, the menu, and my fingers.
"Well who are you and why has Karlie been hiding you?" The middle one leaned forward with a slick smile on his face. My head turnt up and my eyebrows raised at the unexpected comment.
Unlike Omari, he had a head full of hair. Although it was sprouted all over his head, his moisturized curls looked well taken care of.
Karlie dramatically turned towards me with a scowl on her face. "That's Brett. I've always known him too, but we were never close because he's an asshole." She pitched him a fake smile and he shot her one back with a wink as well which made me laugh.
"I'm Jace." The one on the outside introduced himself.
Just as he spoke my phone had vibrated with a text message from Karlie.
He's Greek and Indian 😏
I offered him a kind smile, "Ronnie." He smiled back at me. My smile had faltered when I realized the next person in line. I had told myself not to be awkward. Not to let it show on my face that i he had literally been inside of me not even twenty four hours ago.
