Sabeeha's point of view.I threw my leg across the bed but I felt it land on something hard, human like. My eyes snapped open as our eyes met. He was looking at me when I realized where I threw my leg.
I threw it on his waist, I'm used to sleeping alone. I slowly lift my leg from his body.
"You're awake, you can't lift your leg this gently if you're asleep." He assured.
I sit up, rolling my eyes. "It was a mistake, I don't usually do this." I scratch my head.
He sits up too, smiling. "Must be." He mutters like he was teasing. "It is, wait and see when we sleep together again." I blurt out without thinking over it.
He didn't say anything about it. "I didn't mean it that way." I try to clear the awkwardness that filled the room, at least awkward from me.
"I know." He stands up, pulling his vest down a bit, his muscular body bulging through it.
"I'm going to take my bathe, you should go to your room now." He walks to the bathroom by himself, staggering a bit since he's aware of his surroundings well.
"Yeah, okay." I mutter, my eyes casually glossing over his body. "Take your time." He then closes the door.
I lay back down, looking at the ceiling. This guy isn't interested in me and is formal. He prefers to keep it short with me.
I sigh. Guess I have to continue pestering him.
I close my eyes, thinking.
Mukhtar and I finally have an opportunity to be together. Three months, three months can fly in no time.
I stretch. Everything will work out, I can finally be happy. Maybe, amina and I could get married together like baba always wanted.
I continued thinking till the bathroom door opened. I attempted to leave but something stopped me.
What?
Khalil casually coming out of the bathroom naked. He walked to the left chiffonier with a towel in his hand while I froze on the bed with my mouth wide open.
He touched a few places the finally took his phone to make a call. "Find me the best chefs and the ones that are giving teaching lessons now."
His head snaps to where I sat. My heart beating fast, it actually felt like he was looking at me then turns away and stands up.
He entered his closet still on he phone as I sneaked out of the room. I lean on the door, thanking god for khalil not finding out that I was there.
Plus, he's looking for a chef. I told him I preferred to learn there, he's stubborn. I can't confront him, I am not supposed to know.
I look up just to see Adama walking up the stairs. A part of me wants to push her down the stairs.
"Good morning." She bellowed. That is ruined since I saw you. "Good morning."
I replied. "I arrived but it seemed like you were asleep." She says then looks at Khalil's room.
I smile, she's hurting deep down. I chuckle a bit, acting shy.
"No, its not what it seems. " I look down, scratching my nose. "No, its all good, great. I will just check up on him, excuse me." She enters his room.
I scoff, entering my room too. "Seeing her stressed out is way better for me." I mutter, twirling.
I pick my phone up, reading a message mukhtar sent to me.
"Shall we meet up?"
I take a sip of my milkshake. "Its been a long time." Mukhtar reminded and held my hand.
"Yeah, it has. I feel like it has been forever in that house." I shake my head when I feel his hands around mine.
He smiles. "What makes you say that?" He asks and I widen my eyes. "The nurse assisting him is tiresome and he, himself, Khalil is tiresome too. It makes me feel depressed."
I rub my temple like I have been traumatized. "I'm sorry, I can't stand being able to just sit here and do nothing."
He growled, his other hand clenched to a fist. "I thought we were getting married, I thanked god baba gave me his consent but I let you slip away from my fingers." He adds.
I smile, caressing his hand. "Don't worry, Khalil says that he's going to divorce me. He doesn't want a relationship as toxic as ours so he's letting me go. The only reason he hasn't finalized it is because of my parents."
I glance at the window, cars passing by. "That's a relief." He leaned back on his chair, letting out a sigh.
"You really want me?" I grin, placing my chin on my palm. "I need you in my life, sabeeha."
He leans closer, looking straight into my eyes. At this moment, all I want to do is be with mukhtar. Nobody else but him.
"I love you, mukhtar." I blurt out as he gives me a warm smile. "Me too." He says caressing my hands.
"How about we go somewhere and have some fun?" I ask with a sly smile.
"You sure?"
I hold his hand standing up. "Never been so sure in my life." I walk to his side and he stands up too.
"After you." I chuckle then we walk out of the café.
