"My husband got into a car accident and lost his eyesight so he called the nurse to help him. She's better at it than anyone at the hospital."

Hafiza rolls her eyes. "Still, I swear to god she will steal away your husband. Now that he doesn't have his eyesight, beauty is the heart for him now."

I rub my temple looking at her. "Its obvious you don't care much but what about your ego? A nurse took him away from you?"

I narrow my eyes. "Its not that I don't care, I trust my husband." I try to act like I like Khalil.

"Then do something! Staying here and feeling bad for yourself isn't going to change anything."

She holds my hands in hers. "You're exaggerating."

Hafiza pulls her hand away from me. "Okay, Its your husband, who am I to pry in your marriage?"

Hafiza tries to guilt trip me. "Come and see him, have you seen him before?" She shakes her head as we stand up.

"Follow me."

We walk to his door when she held my arm. "He's going to see me, what am I going to say to him?"

"He's blind, you don't have to say anything." I turn and entered the room. Adama wasn't here thankfully.

We stood at the door, looking at Khalil while he read. Hafiza seemed to be feeling bad yet impressed. She came closer to me. "He's fine." She whispers.

I shrug before holding her hand and left the room. I closed my bedroom door.

"He's good looking but blind." Hafiza says sadly. "Yeah."

She turns to look at me. "You're such a terrible person." She says out of the blue.

"How am I terrible?"

"You have a husband like that but you didn't thank god now look. You don't even like him. You were like 'he's blind, its not like he can see.' You're terrible."

She crosses her arms as I chuckle at the absurdity. "I got married to him not to make baba feel bad, I never liked him and I can't love him because of pity."

She rolls her eyes. "Its not because of that, there's something else."

"There's nothing."

I lie, not in the mood for the judgement. "I still have amina's number. Do you want me to ask?"

"Yeah, sure."

Hafiza pulls out her phone, dialling amina's number. Downside, amina can be tricked to saying it easily.

Hafiza will act like she knows everything and then amina will start spilling.

"Wait!" I stop hafiza, she looks at me waiting for an answer. "Yes, there's something else."

She drops her phone. "I'm in love with someone named mukhtar."

She furrows her brows, slightly opening her mouth. "Are you crazy?! You're married already."

I groan. "I know, obviously." I threw my hands in the air.

"How?" Hafiza asks interested. "I was supposed to marry mukhtar but then suddenly changed to Khalil because he came to ask for my hand in marriage.

"You knew each other?"

"No, we met at the supermarket and asked me out. I declined politely then left. Next thing I know after putting all my hopes on mukhtar was getting married to him."

She sighs, hanging her head. "It mistve been mad annoying but you're married now to someone better. Move on, mukhtar has."

I scoff internally. "Its not easy, hazif." I call her  by the nickname we used to call her  when she groans loudly.

"I hate that nickname!" She throws a pillow at me while I laugh. "Hafiza! My name is hafiza!"

"I know, you should blame Aisha. How's Aisha though?"

"You asked that already but I'll give you a detailed answer this time."

She moves closer to me. "Aisha is happily married to a guy named munir, very handsome. They met from her cousin."

I nod. "Faisal just came back and told her about him. She panicked but you know Aisha, the minute she saw a picture, she fell for him."

I chuckle, shaking my head. "Really?"

"Yes, they started talking and now, they're married."

"Wow, that's nice."

"Yep, I'm so happy for her." She smiles. I purse my lips, looking at hafiza.

"What?" She asks when she saw me looking at her. "You like Faisal right?"

She laughs, clapping her hands. "Yes, kinda."

I roll my eyes. "For how long? How long has it been?"

"It doesn't matter." She crossed her arms. I decide to change the topic since it dwindling.

"Which university do you go to?"

"Prove university, 6 years. Medicine."

My eyes widened. "Have you heard about the woman that was raped?"

She nods slowly. "Yeah, I know her."

She scratches her head, looking sad. "You know everyone, anyways, how do you know her?"

"She spends time in my room then suddenly she started acting weird. I made up my mind to talk to her when I found out she left the school."

She yawns, leaning on the bed. "I felt do bad for her."

"Yeah, I see her now and then. She's still married and has a child."

"That's great." I reply realizing I have nothing else to say.

I clear my throat. "Clearing your throat makes it more awkward." Hafiza says breaking the silence.

"I don't even know I did it, reflex actions." I chuckle nervously.

"But for real, handle this nurse thing or straighten the situation out. Anyone. Now, how's amina?"

After hours of gossiping and laughter, hafiza finally decided to leave. I followed her to the gate till her car came to take her.

I walk back in with a smile plastered on my face when I heard Adama laughing hard and loud.

I roll my eyes, not interested. I went up the stairs. "No, I don't want you to feed me." She protests in a joking manner.

I came to a halt, processing what she said. "Oh my god, you spilled it. It's  okay, I'll clean it up."

I sneak to check it out. Adama was cleaning her scrubs. "I would've preferred I cleaned it since I made the mess."

Khalil says as she smiles widely. "Another time maybe."

I widen my eyes at her bold reply. I leave the door to my room, constructing a plan for 'nurse Adama'.
