THE crash of TNT exploding had sounded through L'Manberg. The fighting didn't matter, everything stopped and slowed into a fearful silence. Tommy gasped as he grabbed y/n's and Tubbo's hands and ran. Before they could get very far, the ground rumbled below them.

"Shit!" Tommy screeched, shoving his friends so they could get far from the explosion. Tubbo managed to pull Tommy with them as the three of them collapsed onto the grass. They watched the final bits of TNT explode what was left of their beloved home.

An opening in the mountain had been exposed during the explosion, opening to sight a room with horrid signs of insanity. Wilbur and Phil stood a meter apart, solemn and cold in manner. Wilbur's eyes were wide and wild, he'd pressed the button. The one thing y/n thought she'd talked him out of and he still went and pressed it. Phil was trying to talk him out of something, it was obvious. It was too late anyway, everything was over and what had been done was done.

"My L'Manberg Phil!" Wilbur screamed, his voice booming with a mash of emotions, but no one could tell what it consisted of,"My unfinished symphony, forever unfinished! If I can't have this no one can!"

y/n watched as Phil turned to look at everyone, his eyes landing specifically on her, and then flickered his attention back to the psychotic being beside him. He was saying something irrational by the looks of hurt Phil was responding with, she couldn't hear what exactly but a fearful pain stung her in her stomach. All she knew now was Wilbur was handing over his sword. Was he finally letting go? Would he give in?

"Look they all want you to!"

"You're my son!"

Tommy stood in shock next to her, heart broken by the destruction of his once favorite place. It hurt them all as she glanced around. Tubbo was mortified, Niki seemed uncertain, Quackity looked emotionless. Everyone was in some kind of pain and the person they once trusted and loved was at the root of it.

"This-This can't be real. It's a dream, right y/n?" Tommy asked her, grabbing her shoulders as some way to ground himself. She wasn't sure what answer to give him anymore. She shook her head lightly, swearing to herself that this kid would never feel the weight he was feeling right now ever again.

"I'm sorry Toms," She took in a shaky breath and shook her head again before her attention fell back onto her boyfriend who was still having a mental collapse,"It's..too real. Wilbur pressed the button."

"Look...Look! How much work went into this and it's gone!"

It all happened in a split second. Phil brought Wilbur in for a hug, a final goodbye before stabbing him directly in the back with his own sword. They both seeped down to the stone floor below them. y/n's heart dropped to the pit of her stomach as she cried out. Tommy tried to hold her back despite how bad he wanted to go help himself, but she pushed him off as she rushed over to the cavern. She found a way to climb, ignoring the cuts and pieces of rock that dug into her hands. Her adrenaline was too high to feel it. She pulled her lover into her lap as she hugged him,"It's okay Wil, we're going to save you! It's okay, just stay awake! Please, Wilbur!"

"I'm sorry.." Phil whispered, dropping the sword that was tainted with the bomber's blood with a clank. He was staring at it as if he wished it didn't exist and y/n was sure he wished it didn't. His own son had died in his hands, he wanted nothing to do with anything.

"P-Phil, please can you get some wrap? We can save him! We just need to stop the bleeding and give him some regen and-and," y/n started sobbing as she tried to stop the bleeding with her hands,"Oh Wil."

"y/n, he's gone. Wilbur is dead..I'm sorry."

"No! He's not! He's still.." He wasn't breathing,"Please! If we can get some potions and maybe Tubbo could help patch him up! Phil, please help him!"

"Wil pressed the button, he asked me to kill him. He didn't want to be alive. Come on, let's get you away from here," Phil stood up shakily and tried to take her away from the dead man.

"No, no, Wilbur please," She sobbed, cupping his cheek as if it would bring him back. No matter how much care she gave, he wouldn't be the same. The look of peace on his face disturbed her. How could he want this? How could he start a revolution, put so much into it and leave it in ruins? It was haunting to consider that maybe he did it all only to just blow it up in the end no matter if they had their freedom or not.

Suddenly a cry errupted from behind them. They both looked over to find two Withers floating just above Techno. Everyone was in a frenzy as more explosions shattered the ground of what could've been a land of order. Tommy was trying to talk Techno out of his plans but it was far too late and y/n didn't want to know whatever else would ensue from the creatures of mass destruction.

"y/n, we need to go," She let Wilbur go hesitantly after hugging him and placing a loving kiss to his cheek one final time as a goodbye. Knowing if they stayed for much longer they would be in trouble, Phil helped her up and hugged her securely. She only cried more, but at least she didn't have to see him. Could this have been stopped? She wished she could've said a real goodbye at the very least. Phil took her away from the cavern, heading to god knows where. It didn't matter anymore, everywhere wasn't the same without Wilbur by her side. She missed his old self before all of this L'Manberg business. When he'd tease her and flirt with her nonstop until it got annoying. It would never be the same.

She ended up on the bench that sat feet from Tommy's house, the tree standing tall next to it. Phil had told her Tommy would be around soon, him trusting the boy with her until he could clean up Wil's remains and talk to his other son. It was a gruesome thought, would they even bury him?

Tommy seemed in just as much pain as y/n when he arrived an hour later, when the Wither's loud sobs and explosions ceased. He sat next to her, pretending the events of the day didn't affect him to be strong for her. He was being shockingly mature, maybe from fear or maybe he was for once doing it on purpose.

"I'm..I'm sorry about Wilbur," He mumbled as he watched her bury her face into her hands, her elbows falling onto her knees. He picked at his own fingernails, eyes crossing out into the horizon,"Things are better this way, trust me."

"I know, but he's so selfish. He didn't care about us Tommy," She didn't lift her head, only muttered the ugly truth that neither of them wanted to face,"He asked Phil to kill him, he bombed L'Manberg, he told me he wouldn't. So fucking selfish.."

"Yeah, really is. We can take it back, make it better than before. We can get the discs t-"

"Practice fighting, find a project to work on. Anything but your stupid discs. The discs are why Wilbur's dead.."

Tommy went silent as he watched the sun set. His practically sister's words setting in. It was his fault. He had egged on Dream and now here they were. No L'Manberg, no Wilbur. He would criticize himself until the day he died. How could he be so foolish as to care only about discs,"I'm sorry."

"Tommy.."

"I'm sorry that this is my fault."

"No that's not-"

"I'll avenge Wilbur, don't worry. I'll kill that stupid green bastard, I swear on my own life," He saluted at her and she picked her head up to nod. She wouldn't voice her opinion anymore since he wouldn't listen anyway. She was proud of him no matter what came from all this, he was taking leadership into his hands. Maybe he felt it was necessary since he was the next oldest brother that wasn't searching for anarchy. Now that she thought about it, was Techno alright? He did have to watch it all unfold too even if he was apart of the destruction. She would ask later when she got the chance.

"Don't be irrational, I can't have you dying," She patted his shoulder and then looked out to the sky. A small part of her mind promised her that Wilbur would come by and sit with them. Maybe joke with Tommy about anything and everything. Throw an arm around y/n and let her rest her head on his shoulder. She shivered at the memories. It was far in the past now, facing the same grave as everything else in her now shallow world.

"Rest well, Wil."
