CHAPTER 9: foe as a friend

(Streets of Konoha)

"This village... it's quite lively..." Temari remarked.

"Yeah, we get that a lot." Naruto spoke.

The two blondes walked trough the streets, Naruto was giving a tour around the village while Sakura and Ino were tailing them.

"Where are they going and what are they talking about?" Sakura asked.

"Dunno, I can't hear them..." Ino answered.

Naruto glanced at Temari with an untrusting expression.

"What's her plan?.' Naruto thought. "So, how is it in Sunagakure?"

"It's a lot more different..." Temari spoke. "In Suna, you don't really know what are the shops selling unless you come in, sand storms are pretty common in my village, so our marketing is often done indoors."

"I see... well here we are." Naruto pointed.

It was Ichiraku's Ramen shop.

"A ramen shop?" Temari asked confused.

"Oh, it's not just a ramen shop, it is THE BEST ramen shop in the world, Dattebayo!" Naruto exclaimed and pulled the girl inside.

"Hey, oji-san and Ayame-nee, guess whose back?" Naruto spoke as he sat on the stool.

"Ah, Naruto, nice to see you." Teuchi greeted.

"Hm? What's this, another lady friend? Gee, Naruto, you're a real Casanova" Ayame teased.

"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" Naruto and Temari exclaimed, flustered.

Ayame giggled. "So, what can we get for you?"

"For me, the usual." Naruto answered.

"Tonkotsu ramen, for me, please." Temari spoke.

Meanwhile, Sakura and Ino were listening on the roof.

"This is totally a date!" Sakura whisper shouted. "What does she even see in him?"

"You right sakura what does she even see in him..." Ino whispered.

Sakura chuckled. "Atleast she doesn't go around with sasuke-kun"

Ino whispered "yeah"

Sakura chuckled " hey how about we tell this to others"

Sakura let out a "Hn" in response.

Naruto and Temari waited for their food, patiently, in silence... in kind of a awkward silence.

"So... that guy with the make-up, he's your brother?" Naruto asked.

Temari chuckled. "Yeah, but don't call his 'War Paint' make-up, he's touchy about it."

"Hm. I mean, I'm sorry, but your brother's an asshole... he should really learn some respect." Naruto spoke.

"It's alright, I kinda agree with that." Temari smiled.

"Your other teammate, Gaara, I think his name was... didn't he just threatened to kill your brother, just yesterday?" Naruto asked.

Temari's expression dropped.

'Crap, must've hit a soft spot...'Naruto thought.

"Well... he's my brother, too." Temari mumbled.

"Really?" Naruto asked surprised and Temari nodded. "A team of siblings... your team work must be impressive."

'If only it'd be that simple...' Temari thought.

"Your order." Ayame suddenly brought the bowls.
