Chapter 22: "A Safe Point"

Martha was giving the CAFE gang around the hideout. It was a nice casino that still had power and water running somehow.

Martha: Here is the cafeteria. We ring the bell every morning for breakfast and every evening for dinner. In order to save food for everyone, we do not offer lunch.

Ring ring ring. The bell dinner just rang as she spoke. They all took a seat in front of the table and waited for the food. Many others came and introduced themselves.

Chef: Oh you guys must be the new kids. Here are today's special hotdogs on a stick!

Hotdogs on a stick? The CAFE gang had never heard of such a thing. But it was just as it sounded. A stick with hotdogs, along the table there were many condiments on the table such as ketchup and mustard. You can use the stick to dip the hotdogs and have a yummy meal. Once dinner was over they continued their tour.

Martha: Here we have the bathrooms. Ladies on the right and Chars on the left.

Charles: Hey! Why must you exclude me like this?

Martha: *chuckles* I joke, it's because we don't have many males here.

Charles didn't notice this until now. The only guys he saw so far were Victor, The Chef, and himself. Everyone else was females.

Martha: Last up we have the rooms. We only have 3 rooms available so decide how you split yourselves up.

Charles: Wait. all of this for free? Seems too good to be true.

Amy: Chars! Don't be rude!

Martha: It's okay, it is the least we can do after putting poor Chars through that horrible experience. You guys can always leave whenever you want. You are not prisoners.

Charles was suspicious, but he didn't have much choice. They had nowhere else to stay for the night. Amy, Magi, and Dulce got one room. Karina got her own room as well as Charles. Although they were safe Charles still felt anxious and on the edge. He was not ready to let his guard down.
