Chapter 15: A Neighbor in Distress

Amy: Chars! Pullover, there is someone on the side of the road.

It's been a couple of days since the incident of Magis's kidnapping. The party has been on edge since then, being very careful of their surroundings. And now this, a stranger in the middle of nowhere waving for help.

Chars: I don't know Amy, this seems sketchy.

Amy: Yes but what if they are really in trouble? Will we really turn our backs on someone in need of help?

Chars takes a look at the scar on Amy's forehead, although it wasn't a serious cut it still serves the purpose of reminding Charles that no one should be trusted. "Yes", Charles says to Amy's question and drives past the stranger on the road.

Magi: Karina? Karina! Chars! Amy! I know that person! Stop the car!

Charles stepped on the breaks and looked back at Magi.

Charles: Magi, are you positive you know that person?

Magi: Yes!

Charles: Like 100% sure?

Magi: Yes she was my neighbor, Karina.

Chars took a deep sigh before turning the car around and passing by the stranger once again. She was in the middle of the highway waving from outside of her car. Perhaps her car was out of gas or perhaps it was a trap.

Charles: Amy... you already know the drill. If things go south I want you to drive away with the girls to safety, ok? No one is to leave the car until I give the signal, understand?

The girls nodded as they usually do and Charles stepped outside to confront this stranger. Everyone else waited from the car and saw how Charles and this so-called "Karina" exchanged words. They were too far to hear what they were talking about but Magi was getting impatient.

Magi: Ugh, what's taking Chars so long?

Amy: Magi chill out, you should be more like Dulce. You see how she is sitting quietly, try being more like her. Magi? Magi!

By the time Amy realized what had happened, Magi had already taken off her seat belt and gotten out of the car. She ran out screaming "Karina! Karina!". Chars had a huge look of disappointment on his face but Magi did not care. She was just so happy that she finally got to see a familiar face. She ran into the stranger's arms and as you can already tell Magi was right, it was her neighbor Karina.

Karina: Magi? Magi! Is that really you? Oh my god!

Karina took a knee and received Magi's hug. Well this confirmed it, this really was Karina, and as it turns out her car was out of gas. Karina had hoped to make it to the next gas station with the remaining gas she had left but she hopped too much. The CAFE gang decided to take in Karina since Magi is familiar with her already and trusts her. Now that the car is packed with people, Dulce decides to put on her raincoat hoodie to cover her cat ears. She did not trust this stranger and no one knows how Karina would react to knowing that Dulce is a catgirl.
