It happened once in the past. At the very beginning of time when the humans were created. And unto thee I shall grant the upmost power to protect humans. It has happened again. A mistake, if you will. One that could cost the peace of the mundane world or grant it for years to come.

A low groan that sounded more like a feral growl came from a worn out throne where a young and mysterious man sat. Only his bright red eyes could be seen in the pitch black darkness that surrounded him like a blanket protecting a child from the cold... or from a monster.

"Master, the prophecy is near," A guard called out. He didn't look from the present time with armor of black leather from seemingly another age. His dark red eyes showed wisdom that could not possibly go with the age that his body seemed to be frozen at.

The mysterious man knew. He had for a while, how could he not? That prophecy isn't going to be fulfilled. After all he has done, all the blood on his hands to get to where he is, he wasn't about to let it happen even if it costs him his life.

"Look for her!" He shouted with rage. "Be it beneath the rocks, in every corner, in the other world, I don't care just find her!" The man grit his teeth together. If only he had killed her sooner.

"I'll find you," he whispered into the cold night air. His body slowly turned into the very shadows he hid in before dissipating, leaving his guard the only one in the vast ruin of a room.

Somewhere near the Canadian border.

After taking everyone but one person out of the airsoft game, Ryan Edger ran down the long flight of old cement stairs. Once he got down he looked both ways before deciding to enter a room to his right. It must have been a living room once as it had a few worn down couches. Well, either way Ryan made a bad choice.

The sound of an airsoft gun being fired is heard. Ryan immediately felt the bb hit his arm. Before he could react properly, he was hit multiple more times. After the shock wared off, he made a dive for one of the many couches. His heart pounded against the cage of his chest as adrenaline pumped through his veins.

"You sure do know how to hide. Were you here since the beginning?" Ryan asked into the dusty air.

Someone had to respond. That someone was Grey Edger, his niece. A few minutes passed, but all Ryan got in response was silence.

"Alright, you want to play it like that?" Ryan stood up. Before he could shoot everywhere he's shot seven times in the chest. The amount of pressure made him fall back with a slight 'omph'.

"Patience is the key," a female voice noted.

A figure approached Ryan who laid on the dirty ground. She was wearing a black and red jumpsuit with a few logos on them and a few pockets here and there. The girl also wore a gray vest over her chest that had a red target sign right in the middle. To complete her playing outfit, she had a half face mask that only let anyone see her vibrant green eyes.

Her uncle sat up with a sigh. He trained her well, which only meant that he was in the right to do what he was going to do. "Wow Grey. You won. Again," he said with sarcasm.

It made Grey chuckle as she helped her uncle off the floor. "Of course I won. Like I said, patience is the key."

Ryan raised his brow at the girl who barely stood below his shoulders. "Says the one who gets frustrated after five minutes trying to catch a fairy."

The smile Grey was wearing faded at the coming memories of fairy hunting. A scowl took its place in seconds. Fairies were portrayed as small human-like creatures, which they often were perceived as such. That as all an illusion, and she knew it well. Just last year she had accidentally pissed them off while hunting and ended meeting the Fairy Queen, which isn't an experience anyone should be proud of. "Whatever," she said as she turned around to leave.
