Hey everyone. Sorry for how long this upload took. I'm seriously considering taking this down and starting from scratch. Same story, just redid. How would we feel about that nonsense? Also, I really hope people out here like this story because, in all honesty, it's not a love story and it's not an action/adventure story, it's a story about piecing back your life. Once or twice, we'll all have to do it. So hopefully people see this story like I do. WELL, love you lots! Vomment&FWEET. (Vote/comment/Fan/fbook/tweet!)

Recap:

I'm a little taken aback. What am I supposed to say now? "Uh... Thanks?" I say and walk backwards.

Bryan huffs. "No, stay here," He looks at me, then yells," Fiona get back here!" He walks into where Fiona stalked off. Or, wheeled off. I caused that? How? She seems scary, bigger than me. I did that? I feel bad.

"What, Bryan?" She says as he pushes her back into the living room.

"Listen. You two were BESTFRIENDS. And you're treating her like dirt. You're nothing like you used to be. Before the accident!" He shouts, mad. Why is he mad? I don't understand.

Fiona's face twists into an ugly thing. "Yes, and the girl before the accident had a full ride to ULA on track. How do you run in a wheelchair? Huh, Bryan, how do you? Oh, yeah. You don't. Bye." And she wheels back into the place she came from.

"Let's go." Bryan says. Why is he mad, still? Did I hurt him, too?

I'm a mess. I follow Byran out into the car, and we drive in silence. I don't know what to say. He knows where I live, so he just drops me off. "Thanks." I say, and get out of the car.

"Sorry about her. you'd... if you could try to understand. She's going through alot. It's been hard on her. On everyone. But... please. Call me if you want to talk, okay?"

Yeah, cause I would know his number. I say nothing but nod and exit the car.

That's when I see cars in the driveway. They aren't Sa-Mom's.

I walk in. "OHMYGOD. ALYSSA!" Mom yells. She barrels over to me and hugs me. "Where were you?" She asks, checking my vitals. That's odd. The men standing in our living room seemed out of place, they were wearing blue uniforms. One of them stepped up.

"Hello, Alyssa. I'm Deputy Johnston. May I ask where you were?" He put his hand on Mom's shoulder.

"Uhm, I was at the park."

"Which park?"

"The one I was at."

Deputy Johnstons face shrivels. "Funny, aren't you?" He looks at Sa-Mom. "I'll be going. You've got my cell, call if theres any problems. I pray there isn't." He says and he and his team file out of the house.

"What the hell was that stunt, Lyss?" Jimmy says, snatching the words out of moms mouth.

"I'm sorry."

"It's alright, dear." Sa-Mom answers before Jimmy can interrupt.

"I'm tired." I say and yawn. "I'm going up to nap." And I head upstairs.

I don't want to talk about where I was. But I'm not really tired. I want to read my journal more. I feel like if I read it everyday, I'll get to the bottom of the mystery. I open it up the next entry.

"May 18th

Nothing happening for this family, yet again. I don't even know why I got placed with such Alien people. I swear, I should be in Paris, New York, or Mulan, with a rich dad and an absent mother. I'd have a sexy boyfriend and no problem at all with him spending the night. If you catch my drift. Also, no annoying siblings. But you know, life sucks, then you die. Whatever. Tonight my Dad's old buddy from college is coming for a visit, and so is his son, Riley. He's my age and probably a megadork. Because his dad is friends with my dad, I have to be nice. Mom said so. Bryan is another one of my bestfriends. He said I should give people chances and not judge them so rudely. But cmon, what have I got to lose in this case? Nothing, let me just tell you. Well, time to go clean, don't want to be tardy for the party. (Hint: Saying this in a overly drawl-y british voice is badass.)

Bye for now.

Lyss."

Riley? Wait, Riley? He's a dork? I confuse myself and flip to the next page.

"May 19th.

I can't believe it. Dad actually has a hot friend. Well, not that I go for much older guys like that, but he's gorgeous. But let me tell you, Riley is a total and complete babe. I'd kiss him. Okay, here's what happened...

Mom calls be down as soon as the doorbelll rings. "We need to be a united front. Always." She lectures. Whatever. Dad races over and opens up the door, revealing an older man, a younger man, and one woman. The older guy has dark hair, not black, though, with some speckled gray in it, his eyes are tired looking but are a pretty shade of brown. He stands taller than my 5'11 father, but I couldn't tell you how tall he is. My eyes swept over him and onto his wife. She's got a reddish brown haircolor, obviously dyed, but all the same, pretty. She had green eyes, but not like the supermodel green eyes that everyone can get if you wear colored contacts. She seemed utterly normal looking. Finally, I make eye contact with the boy.

"Dave, buddy it's been a while. Since we graduated, right? How ya doin? This is my family, Candance, Riley and myself. My little daughter had a sleepover party arranged for tonight, sorry." He gave all of us his hand. Candance followed, but Riley didn't. He looks angry he was here, and his brown eyes spelled it out enough. But the way he held himself at the door, and how his brown hair fringed over his eyes. He was like me. Except the extremely hot boy version. "Riley." His dad threatened. Riley's face didn't change at all, he just stuck his hand out. Dad walked over, shook his hand, and then Mom did the same, as did I. But he doesn't look angry to the rest of the world, it's only the people who have that fire in them.

"Ah, Joseph, how've you been? Just moved back into town, I see. I read about your arrival in the paper. Congrats on the new deal." He says, and heads toward the living room. Mom obviously pairs up with Riley's Mom. So we're in the foyer, by ourselves.

Akward. Well, I start to walk into the kitchen. He follows behind me. I sit down and everyone else is standing. Mom turns to me and whispers. "Be nice to him. His father's a good man, his mother's a wonderful cook." Then she gets louder. "Dinner won't be ready for another hour, so why don't we show you our house?"

Everyone agrees and files out. We show them in a painstakingly slow amount of time all of the downstairs. We head upstairs and the first spot is my room. I take over. "Yep, my room." Is all I say. Mom talks more and I walk stay in my room.

"I take it you don't like your Mom?" I hear someone say. It's Riley. Naturally, I want to gush to him, because he's hot. But Mom, wants me to talk with him, and be friendly. So I give him a cold shoulder.

"Haven't you heard of knocking?" I asked back, rudely.

He responded with a "Yep." And that's it.

Then we ate, yadda yadda yadda.

The best part was, while saying goodbye, he handed me something. "You dropped this." and they left. I thought it was something from my room. I open it up, and see a number. '1-230-637-0092 call me. -Riley.'

And that's it. It was an amazing night, and I'm waiting to text him. I don't want to sound eager. But I guess that's all I have for tonight. Bye!

-Lyss."

That's how I met the mysterious Riley. It's not insightful at all, though. Do I call him? Yes, I do. I know that much. But why is he such a huge deal? I don't know. My brain hurts, I need to fall back into the darkness.

I need to be alone.
