Hey all! I love how you guys like this story! I'm trying to make it longer, I really am. Next part is gonna be long,
(: Promise.
Insomnia.
Beeping,
beeping,
beeping .
Sometimes it speeds up. When I escape the darkness, it beeps.
When I drink, it beeps.
All it does is beep.
I open my eyes and see Sae. She's fluttering all over the room, putting flowers everywhere. Her face is painted with an unnatural expression. A single tear falls as she reads something. She doesn't know I'm awake yet. Quivering, she whispers to herself. "Please, remember me. Please." More tears follow until she begins gasping for air. Why is she doing that? My throat begins closing, and the beeping goes crazy. She stiffens, then becomes a brave woman, with a smile plastered to her face.
"Oh, hi honey, I didn't realize you were awake. How ya feeling?"
I click. She continues on, "Oh, they had to put you to sleep, because you refused." Her smile turns apologetic.
Click. Beeping. Dr. Luke walks in, in some dark clothes. Not his usual things. Click.
"Alrighty, we're going to begin your therapy today! First, speech therapy!" He smiles easily and plunks down on my side. "Mrs. Mendria, would you care to stay?"
She nodds a yes with certainy, while wiping her eyes. He looks back to me. "Alright now, we want to see how much speech you forgot after the Accident. I would like you, to let me take the tube out of your throat. That's first."
I click and he starts moving the things around. Finally, he lightly touches my neck. "1...2...3" He yanks something out fast. It hurts. I begin coughing, and red comes up.
"LUKE, HELP HER, SHES COUGHING UP BLOOD!" The weak Sae returns, rushing up to me, telling me to, "Take deep breaths!"
I listen, and the beeping slows.
"Alright, you handled that well. Now, you should be able to use your voice. It might sound very different, but now, when you mouth things, noise should come out as well."
I open my mouth, and a croak comes out. Sae's smile is genuine, she's very happy.
"Good, very good. Progress, good." He starts writing on a paper.
Beeping. I'm woozy. I croak again, this time louder, more full. Sae claps.
"Alright, that was wonderful. I want you to keep making noise. When you need something, shout. Now, we should move onto physical therapy. I want you to lift your arms, and curl your fingers." He shows me. I lift my arms and try. I hold my breath, and the beeping goes fast. I don't stop, keep going!
When I did it, the beeping turned into a siren.
"GOOD! Now breathe, the defibulator (A/N NO CLUE HOW TO SPELL IT,) is going crazy!"
I breathe. "Alright, good enough for today. You look tired. Go to sleep." Dr. Luke says. I croak as loud as possible. "No? Well, fine. Hold on..." He walks to the cabinet and grabs a metal thing.
And then,
Heaviness evades me once again.
Okay, so people are asking me if Dr. Luke is all creepy and stuff, no. He's just an attached Doctor. (: Hope you liked this!
