Heya! I really want votes on this, I love this storyy.....(:
Let me know what you think!
-----:BROKEN MIND:-------
Every day, I get better. Slowly, painfully slowly, words come to me.
When I say my name, I get an extra juice for lunch.
When I start using more then 2 words in a sentence, I get a new gown.
I'm like a newborn, learning everything all over again. I don't mind much.
It's like a game, but I'm the only player.
Sae comes everyday, and talks to me.
Nobody will answer my questions, except Chelsey. She tells me things.
"Oh, you had an accident." She'll answer when I ask why I'm here.
"Why does the man think I would blame myself?"
"Your difficult. And because of your past. You had some trouble. I don't see why. You had Riley!" She'll exclaim. Then somebody will come in and hush her.
Whoever Riley is, I don't know.
Days will go by when Sae will come in, look at me, and leave.
Those days are lonely. Most days are.
When the lights go out, the nightmares begin.
I'm sitting somewhere, by myself. Then, the light smashes into me. Then, beeping. Sometimes the beeping stops in my dreams. And then everyone cries.
But it starts again.
Everynight.
----
*2 months later.*
I can go home now. Dr. Luke said goodbye this morning, kissed my cheek, and wiped his tears.
"I'll miss you, you know that, kiddo? Come visit as often as you can. If Sae will let you drive!"
I laugh with him. "I'll miss you, Dr. Luke." My words are slurred, but he understands. They've been getting better everyday.
I get into the car, taking a look at everything. The blue sky is azure, the grass beginning to yellow, as fall sets in. My puffy purple sweater hangs over my slight frame.
The car has my things in it, as well as a sleeping Chelsey and a haggard Sae. "I will drive!" I announce as Sae chuckles.
"No ma'am, you will not!"
"Women." I reply and sit in the back with Chelsey. The car starts and when we leave the parking lot, I begin crying.
It's good to leave, my doctors said it would be difficult.
I'll have to answer questions that I don't know. But I can take it.
Dr. Luke promised me I would learn about my life. I plan on starting now.
"Sae... where are we going?"
"Home."
"I live with you?"
Tears well up in her eyes. "Yes. We'll talk when we get home."
-
Chelsey lives two blocks away from us. I wake her and hug her whisper a thankyou.
"Bye, come see us soon." She says.
"Us?" I ask her, confused.
"Me and Fiona!"
"CHELSEY!" Sae shouts, causing me to flinch.
Chelsey leaves without another word.
When we get home, Sae smiles. "Sit down, the couch is good?"
"Yes, it's fine." I sit like she asks. She hands me a dark purple velvet book
"Okay, I have something that might help you. It's a journal you wrote before the accident. Thank god you liked writing, this is going to fill in blanks that I didn't
even know. Remember that if you have questions, just ask me. We should talk in the morning." Then she kisses my head and leaves.
"Where should I sleep?" I ask, before shes gone.
"You mean, 'where should I lie awake allnight?' And that answer is your room. Come on..." She takes my arm and leads me up the dark brown carpeted
stairs. The light blue walls hold pictures of me, a girl that looks like Chelsey, a man, with dark brown eyes, the boy from before, and Sae.
"Who-" I begin to talk, but Sae points a finger to the book. I nod.
My room is gray, with neon paint splatters. Pictures of the Chelsey look-alike, but older, and I, litter the floor. My closet is white, and expo markers are on a shelf next to it. A flash of something leaves me stunned.
(A/N This is a flashback... certain things will trigger it, like stepping into her room.)
I'm sitting on the bed, with a girl who looks like Chelsey. The one in my pictures.
"Wanna go out tonight?" She asks.
"Nah, lets watch movies, Fi." I answer.
"Come on.... I heard Riley's gonna be there....."
"LETS GO!"
-Present-
"Alyssa?" Sae's voice snaps me back.
"Yes?"
"This is your room. Read the diary."
Then she leaves.
I walk over to the mirror and look at myself. My brown eyes are the color of mud, the kind you can't look at for too long. My hair is a a burnt orangey/brown
color. My body is sunken, but you can tell I never had curves. My high cheekbones and thick, long eyelashes give my face a dramatic look.
I can't say I'm pretty.
I sigh and walk to my bed. It's actually a futon that you pull out. I sit and open the journal. It's in my handwriting, which is slanted half cursive/half not.
The first entry;
"May 15th,
I hate that I have to write in this. Mom says it's gonna help me, because I'm 'spiraling out of control' which is the most rediculous thing ever. I'm not, I'm just being a teenager, not the stupid, perfect version of my mom. She can just suck it. I'm supposed to be positve, but I'm positve living here isn't gonna help that. I hate living here. The only thing thats good is Fiona doesn't live far away. Fionas my bestfrand ever, she helps me with everything. Most nights she stays here, so lifes a little more bearable. But then she leaves. She has a normal family. Not some 'everybody has to be perfect' family. Jimmy, my twin(notferternal) brother, fits that description. He's completely perfect. He moved up a grade and is on the varsity basketball team. Even though he was only a sophmore. Now, he'll be a senior, while I'll be a junior who wont be able to pass geometry with anything higher then a C. I don't care, but my mom, Sae Mendria, the perfect wife and stay at home mother, will. She's so anal, she wont even walk in my room because it 'upsets' her aura. Whatever. Well, I'm gonna go have a life. See ya tommorow.
-Lys."
I set the book down, lay down, and just think. Sae is my mom? Who's my dad? I don't want to read more, I've alot to think about. So I close my eyes, and pretend that heaviness spreads through me.
What do you think? It's completely not like my other stories, but I like writing it. (:
