Setsuna couldn't find Chishiya or Kuina anywhere. At this point, she thought about how she didn't care about living. Her mind wasn't in the right place, nor should she have ever chosen to reside in the Borderlands.
"Someone ran down the stairs!" An armed militant saw her and shouted. She was doomed if she didn't flee. She would be shot and burned by the bomb fire outside.
So many gunshots were heard down every corridor. They're trying to gather them up in one crowd.
She couldn't think where she should go. She kept running but felt like she was trapped mentally.
Setsuna found an escape, she took a turn to the B1F Machine Room. She thought she could hide there for a bit until the commotion calmed down.
"So you found me—"
"You fucking bastard! I was looking everywhere for you, and you decided to hide in here?!" Setsuna was furious and it didn't particularly settle right.
"May you tone your voice down or you'll draw them here. It was rather peaceful," Chishiya snickered which made her mood drop more. So that's it? He just used her for a small time and does not need her anymore?
"So you used me, Arisū and that girl Usagi for a personal gain and now you got what you wanted. We're nothing?" Setsuna didn't know why this hurts her more than it should've.
Chishiya was silent, he didn't know the exact words to use to make the situation better. "No matter what I say, it's all futile in this world; a cold reality. We're not here to make allies or friends." Chishiya was blunt with his response. And it was the same as her former comrade Yūta who later lost his life in a Hearts game.
"I can't ever forgive you for this." Setsuna looked at him with disgust. How would Kuina ever partner with him? He made silent threats in order for her to cooperate.
"I'm not asking for forgiveness nor apologized for what I did," Chishiya shot back and was about to walk away. Why is he acting like this?! "So if I was caught by Niragi you would've been fine if he violated my rights?" Setsuna gained his attention. He stopped in his tracks and looked back.
"My calculation concluded otherwise. The outcome was predictable. You can run, use skittish abilities that the others wouldn't foresee. I wasn't worried," Chishiya's response was somewhat a slight relief to Setsuna. He believed in her and cared at least.
"So you had hope I would've survived the outcome? You didn't care who you threw under the bus, as long as you get what you want? Am I correct?" Setsuna's voice cracked, she felt her heart slowly tear itself apart from hearing the truth. She didn't want to admit his fondness of him that drove her to go the extra mile for him.
"Wouldn't you have done the same? Isn't all humans think and act the same in a life-death scenario. Even as Arisū said, this is a cold reality. Nothing more, nothing less." Chishiya had a cold tone with his reply. Setsuna felt frozen in place and the feeling of anxiety overwhelming her.
"90 minutes left. 55 survivors remaining." The announcer telecom said. Chishiya smirked and was about to walk away for once and for all silently wishing her the best.
"Let me be your partner. I don't care about dying anymore." This wasn't expected nor did Chishiya think she would offer herself up.
"Hm... what an unpredictable outcome, Fuji-san." Chishiya stepped close enough to be a few inches away from her. He brushed a few strands of her white locks away from her face. She nearly stumbled in place. It felt so good and wrong at the same time. He was like a sadist and she was lowering herself for him, but why?
