A pre-party house was always a mess, especially today. Tonight, the seniors of Mike Craftington High, class of [insert year here], were getting together for one final get together before summer came to a close. Not only would half the school show up, but Nicolas Sap was also the one hosting. And Nicolas Sap was one hell of a host.
With the school year finally coming to an end, the seniors of Mike Craftington high were gathering together for one last summer together before they all inevitably went away to college. Usually, it was Clay who was hosting the party, but with the over looming chaos and reckless energy of the fresh-out-of-high-school-students, Nicolas Sap was the one to plan it.
Nick Sap lived a few minutes out of town, in the dense forest that surrounded the town that I probably forgot to name. His house was fairly large, fairly secluded, and fairly perfect for teenage chaos. Clay's house may have been bigger, but it was in the middle of town. And knowing Sapnap's reputation, tonight something was definitely getting set on fire. May it be the house, or may it be some hearts.
Clay was already at his best friend's house, watching him as he rushed around getting everything ready. He found it amusing. Nick was never one for putting effort into much of anything, so seeing him working so hard was a breath of fresh air. Nick was staying here for college, Clay could tell that Nick was going to miss his high school friends. He'd make tonight perfect.
"Oh, Daddy Dream~" Sapnap wiggled his eyebrows as he rushed into the kitchen where Clay was sitting. Since summer was in full swing, both boys were dressed in tank-tops and shorts, but Sapnap had the added feature of poorly constructed space-buns.
Clay lifted his head up from his phone and stared daggers at his oldest friend. "Nick... you know only George can call me that now." He smirked.
Sapnap gasped in fake betrayal and clutched his hand over his chest. He leaned back and threw his free hand to his forehead. "Oh, how you hurt me Dream! I thought we were going to be together forever!" He whined dramatically.
Clay erupted into a hearty wheeze. "Well, you might not end up with me." Dream's laughs sizzled out into a small chuckle. "What about Karl? And Alex Quackity?" So apparently, Sapnap wasn't as straight as we all once assumed.
Nick's face flushed red at the sound of those two names. Nick had a nasty habit of flirting with men and then trying to convince himself it was just a bromance. And then he fell hard. For not one, but two different boys.
"Okay, well, you know... like... okay... you see-""This is painful to listen to." Clay snickered playfully as his friend became a blubbering mess. "You invited them right?"
"Yeah..." He mumbled shyly.
"Ask 'em out." He shrugged.
Sapnap huffed out. "Okay, no one can be as smooth as you Dream Boat." Sapnap batted his eyelashes and clutched his hands together "'Oh Gogy! You're cute too! UwU! I'm so high on morphine, and I'm so madly in love with you'. " He mocked in a girlish voice then proceeded to make a kissy face.
"Oh come on now. That's not what happened." Clay scoffed.
"Ya sure? Because if I remember correctly, you called him, and I quote 'a cute ass nurse' too."
"Do you want advice on how to pick up dudes or are you going to insult me and my manz?"
"Y-your manz?!" He cackled loudly. Nick's confident demeanor suddenly melted away and his eyes had become droopy. "Please help me."
A cocky grin graced Clay's lips. "Ah, okay Pandas. I'll help you." He got up and patted Sapnap's head playfully. "So first... you gotta sweep them off your feet. Like this." Clay grabbed Nick's waist and dipped him.
"Seggsy." Nick nodded wisely, drawing his hand to rest it on his chin.
“Or we can do a classic: 'Oh no i accidentally shoved one of your love interests in your pool and you have to save them.' It’s cliche because it always works.” Clay continued to hold Sapnap in the dip as he spoke. While in this... suggestive position, the two friends failed to hear the front door open and close.
In came George Founders. He was wearing an oversized green hoodie (stolen from Clay's closet) as well as jeans and black shoes. In his arms, he held several paper bags, presumably holding decor for that night's gathering.
"Hey, I got the stuff-" He walked into the kitchen to see his boyfriend and his boyfriend's boyfriend interlocked in a very interesting position. He stopped in the doorway and stared. George slowly blinked. He pursed his lips together in a thin line, trying his hardest not to laugh. "Oh jeez."
"Sorry, Gorg , your manz is mine now." George's only response was a heavy and drawn-out sigh. Sapnap then dramatically threw his arms over Clay's shoulder and pulled him down.
This was a bad idea.
They became very top-heavy.
Clay lost his balance.
Long story short, the two men crashed to the floor in a very expected pile of self-made misery. Clay landed on top of Nick, knocking the air out of Nick's lungs.
"Clay! Y-your dump-truck ass is crushing me..." Nick strained as all air and maybe even his soul left his body.
"Please don't break your foot again, Clay." George scolded playfully as he set the bags down on the counter. Clay rebounded quickly and leaped to his feet, leaving Nick on the floor.
"Oh yeah George, congrats on your scholarship thing." Nick groaned in bitter agony as he remained facedown on the tiled kitchen floor.
"Thank you." George smiled as Clay swept him up in his arms. The two shared a soft kiss before remembering Sapnap's presence, even though they were at Sapnap's house.
"When do you leave?" Nick asked, finally picking himself up.
"Dorms open in July, classes don't start till August," George explained as he wrapped his arms around Clay's shoulders and pulled him into a long and warm hug.
"Sucks that you gotta move outta town," Nick said.
"Yeah, but it's only three hours away." Clay introduced himself to the conversation. "It's not so bad."
"What's gonna happen to your sister?"
"Eliza? Well, she's starting high school in the Fall, and moving out of town would be too much stress for her. All her friends are here and everything." George explained as he snuggled closer to Clay.
"Eliza will be staying with my family for the time being, at least until George finishes his degree." Clay finished, squeezing George gently.
"She going to Craftington?" Asked Nick.
"Mhm." Responded George.
"She's either going to get brutally bullied by Tommy or brutally bully Tommy." Nick laughed.
"Don't forget, Drista's starting there too." Clay commented.
"Brutally bully Tommy," Nick concluded wisely, nodding to himself. The boys shared several laughs and chuckles as they joked about their days and so on. George couldn't help himself, he leaned onto Clay completely listening to Sapnap talk as he hugged his boyfriend.
After that, the conversation fizzled out as Nick went back to work setting up the house for the party. Everything seemed like it was perfect. George had gained legal custody of his younger sister, so the fear of her getting taken away was gone. His father had completely vanished again, hopefully never to return. Even though his mother's bedroom remained empty and unused, the wounds from the past year had started healing.
With the comfort he found with Clay, as well as the support he had from his newfound friends, George Founders' life was looking up. And quite frankly, he couldn't wait to grow up now. He couldn't wait because, for the first time in years, the future was not some dull thick cloud of anxiety. Instead, it was something lighter, and fluffier. George was excited to move forward.
