((CW// Imma call so many of you out rn))
A few days had passed since Clay's departure from the town George now called home. The feeling of loneliness was deafening to George. He had found rather quick friends in both his roommate Sam and the student body president Puffy, but it was not the same. He longed to be back in the safety and comfort of his familiar hometown. At least there everything made sense. This place just scared George.
Over the course of his first days here, George had been in near constant contact with Clay. Whether that meant on a phone call or texting him for hours, he was never not talking to his boyfriend. Clay was the only consistency in his life currently.
George knew very well he had developed anxiety during his years of personal neglect, but he dismissed his panic completely for Eliza. He couldn't be weak in front of her, he was her big brother after all. But now that Eliza was in a stable situation, George's autopilot had turned off, leaving George basically exposed. George was drowning even through his head was above water.
The first classes were today, and needless to say George was freaking out. Sam had already left by the time George awoke for his morning classes. When he woke up, he kept his body still and his eyes closed. George debated if this was the right choice. After all, Brazil sounded pretty amazing right now. When his alarm screamed out once more, George finally got up. He deciding against running away. Clay believed in him, Eliza believed in him, isn't that all he needed?
Dressed and stressed, George fitted himself with Clay's oversized hoodie. He liked the way he felt in it. Plus it smelled like Clay, which just added to the fact. Swinging his bag over his shoulder, George mentally prepared himself for today. He checked his gifted watch; time to go.
Drawing in a deep breath to settle in nerves, George exited Room 404 and made his way down to his classes. The mood of peace had settled over the campus. A warm overcast had spread out over the sky, casting it in a thick blanket of grey. George noted the different people as he walked across the large courtyard type area.
The anxiety's needles became daggers as he drew closer and closer to his lecture hall. The muted tones and browns of the interior gave a feeling of intellect. It almost became to overwhelming in a way. The room in which was class was actually being held in only have a hand full of people inside. Each person looked their own kind of desperate From a desperate for a nap or a desperate need to prove themselves, George was the ladder.
He found a seat near the middle of the stands, sitting the furthest away from everyone else as he could. Once George's notebook, papers and pencils were displayed before him on his desk, he was ready. George opened in notebook, wanted to start taking notes as soon as possible, but something unusual got his attention.
It was a small (assumingly green) sticky note was placed in the center of the first page. A dorky grin crossed his mew as he ready the note.
'George, dont panic
You got this :)
- Clay'
Clay really thought of everything, didn't he? The note seeming allowed the tethers of fear to melt off of George's bones. Deciding to leave the sticky note in it's place so he could see it every day, George moved onto the next page.
Class began to the dot. The professor was an older man, white whiskers chugged his chin. He looked pissed. George shifted uncomfortably. Oh boy.
