Sleepy Poe (SP)

A/N: if you didn't notice, most of my Stormpilots can be interpreted as either Earth AUs or ecumenopolis AUs. This one features Sleepy!Poe.

Finn's Point of View

Finn and Poe were watching a movie, but Poe was jet-lagged and had laid down, just because he "wanted to rest his head".

And now Poe was asleep.

In Finn's lap.

In all the months of dating, Finn knew that Poe was basically a cat who could and would go to sleep anywhere. He had once used his new jacket and just curled up on the floor with it over him.

It was, if Finn was being totally honest, adorable. So he paused the movie and picked up a nearby book, trying not to move at all for fear of waking his boyfriend, who would be grumpy, especially if he was having a dream about flying.

Finn read for a while, reaching down to absent-mindedly run his hand through Poe's hair.

After about an hour of alternating between reading and watching Poe sleep, he made the decision to wake Poe up, a little tired of sitting still and wanting to eat dinner.

He gently shook the shoulders of the sleeping man stretched out on the couch, who just mumbled something, brow furrowing at something in his head.

Finn shook his shoulders again, whispering, "Come on, Poe, time to wake up."

Poe's breathing quickened as he woke, passing through the surface of the mental sleep-induced haze. "Mmm," he hummed, reaching up to rub his eyes open and re-muss his hair. "What time is it?" he asked, blearily staring upward into Finn's eyes.

"The sun is setting, so almost dinner time. I think you snoozed for about an hour -- a motionless hour for me, I might add," Finn replied, grinning.

"Sorry 'bout that," he murmured, sounding a bit disgruntled. The sun released its last pure golden rays of the day behind them, lighting up Poe's brown eyes, which looked even better close up, twinkling with the hints of a smile as he adjusted to being awake.

"C'mon, let's go cook," Finn suggested, allowing Poe to wrap his arms around his neck. They kissed for a moment, each soaking up the other's presence, before getting up off the couch and making their way to the kitchen, a beautiful pink and orange sky silhouetting their laughing figures.
