I sat quietly in the loft waiting to hear news from anyone. It was very quiet, except for the occasional cough coming from Cora which always scared me. It seemed that she was okay for now but I feel that it was getting worse. I went over to the side of the bed and sat down on the chair next to it. I grabbed Cora's hand and took away some of her pain which caused her to relax a little bit. She opened her eyes for a split second and looked at me giving me a small smile. She closed her eyes once more and started sleeping again. I sighed and still held on to her hand. Every now and then Cora would squeeze my hand and I would hold tightly to her hand letting her know I wasn't going anywhere. Another hour passed and there was still no word from anyone. I sighed and looked out the window from across the room. My phone then started to ring. I looked at Cora and got up from my spot and walked over to the table and grabbed my phone.
"Hello?" I called through the phone. I didn't even look at the caller ID.
"Ella, it's Ethan." called through the phone. I sighed hoping it was Derek.
"Hey Ethan, is everything okay?" I questioned while stealing a glace at Cora.
"No, Kali is dead." he answered. My eyes widened and I clamped my hand over my mouth.
        "Wh-what?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, Deucalion killed her." he said through the phone. I could practically hear his teeth grinding in anger.
"I'm so sorry." I said and sat down on the circular stair case. I ran my hand through my hair and sighed a sad sigh.
"It's not just us who lost her Ells. We wanted to call you and tell you. We know how much she also meant to you." I heard Aiden call. I sighed and nodded, even though I knew they couldn't see.
"I know. Thank you guys for telling me." I said into the phone. I then heard a gasping come from Cora. I turned my head to her and ran to her side immediately and grabbed her hand. "It's okay Cora, I'm here. I'm here." I said and took more of her pain away. "Listen Ethan I gotta go I'll talk to you later." I said and hung up the phone without hearing his response. I sighed and sat down in the chair next to the bed and just held her hand. I laid my head down on the bed and closed my eyes. Not too long after that though, Derek walked into the loft. I lifted up my head and looked over at him. He immediately came towards Cora and just looked at her. I got up from Cora's side so Derek could sit in the chair next to her. I didn't say anything, I just left them be. I walked over to the spiral staircase and sat down on one of the steps. I took out my phone and texted Scott. Hey is everyone okay? I sent to him. I sighed and leaned against the railing. Not too long later Scott texted me back. Everyone is fine. How's Cora? I looked over to where Derek and Cora were and silently cursed to myself. This shouldn't be happening to her. I think she's getting worse. I keep taking away some of her pain but I can't take away much or I could die. I quickly replied. After I sent the message Peter came walking into the loft. He saw me and smiled slightly. I nodded my head at him and he went to stand beside Derek. I walked over to them quietly and just looked at Cora.
"Easy Derek. Take to much and-" Peter started saying but Derek cut him off.
"I could die. I know." he said while still looking at Cora. "It's possible to pass your power on to someone else without dying right?" Derek asked Peter. My eyes widened slightly and I looked over at Peter.
"I've never heard it actually succeeding but yes, it can be done." Peter explained. I looked over at Derek who grasped his sister's forearm and held tightly to her hand. Derek started to take away her pain as well as giving her his power. I cringed at the sight of Derek who was cringing and crying out in pain. I looked away from the sight and tried to block it out. About half of a second after, the crying stopped and so did the heavy breathing that was coming from Cora. I looked at her and saw that she was breathing normally. I put my hand over my chest and sighed in relief. I looked over at Derek who had his head hung low. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. He took his hand that wasn't on Cora's and covered my hand with his own.
"I'll be back." Peter said as he started walking out of the loft. I went to ask him where he was going but he was out of the door before I could even make a sound. I looked back at Derek who was looking up at me. I gave him a sad smile and squeezed his shoulder. He sighed at me and got up from his spot next to Cora. He then walked over to the window, not letting go of my hand. I just looked at him as he stared out the window.
"Is she going to be okay?" I asked him. He looked over at me and nodded.
"Yeah, she'll be fine." he responded while turning his head to look at his sister. He then turned back to the window. This entire time Derek has not let go of my hand. I leaned my head on Derek's shoulder and to my surprise he let go of my hand and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I wrapped both my arms around his waist. We stood like that for what seemed like an hour, but in reality it was probably only five minutes. We were now sitting on the couch and just talking.
"You know, your family would be really proud of you." Derek said with a small smile. I sighed and looked down.
"I know. But, it doesn't face the fact that they're gone." I said with a shrug. Derek pulled my to him and embraced me in a big hug. "Yours would be proud of you too Derek." I said and looked up at him. He looked down at me and kissed my forehead.
"I like to think they would be." he said. I just snuggled up to his side as we waited for Peter to get back. We sat in silence for about half an hour before Peter finally showed back up and covered in blood.
"What the hell Peter?" I asked as I got up off of the couch. He looked at me and smirked.
"I got rid of the problem." he said with a shrug. I looked over at Derek who just looked back at me in response. I shrugged and looked over at Cora who was just waking up. Derek rushed to her side and he explained what had happened. I smiled at them and walked upstairs to get some rest.
The next morning I was awoken by Cora who was sitting on my bed. I smiled at her as she smiled at me. "You look a lot better." I said while I sat up.
"I wanted to thank you. For what you did for me and my brother." she said with a smile. I returned her smile and nodded.
"Of course." I said as I got up. I walked over to my bag and pulled out an outfit and walked into the bathroom and got dressed. Once I emerged from the bathroom Cora was still sitting on my bed. She smirked at my outfit and I threw her a questioning look.
"What?" I questioned. She shrugged and got up.
"Oh, I don't know. I mean, that's a hot outfit, and you fancy my brother..." she trailed off. I looked at her and gasped.
"You think I'm trying to impress your brother?" I questioned. She put her hands up in defense.
"You said it, not me." she smirked. I chuckled and shook my head.
"Whatever you say Hale." I joked. She winked at me and jogged down stairs. I chuckled a bit more and shook my head. I followed Cora down stairs only to find Derek looking out the window, as usual. Although, this time, he had a bag with him.
"I was wondering when you would come down here." Derek smirked at me. I chuckled and shrugged. He opened his arms to me and I ran into them and hugged him.
"So, where you going?" I questioned. I looked up at him and he smiled down at me.
"You mean where are we going?" he corrected. I rose my eyebrows at him and he chuckled. "You don't really think I'd leave my alpha behind do you?" he questioned. I laughed at him and hit his chest in a joking way.
"Yeah yeah yeah. So really, where you going?" I asked as I went over to the couch and sat down on it. He came over at sat next to me.
"I'm going with Cora, and I want you to come with me." he said while holding my hands in his lap. I giggled and then sighed.
"Oh, I don't know Derek." I said as I looked down at our hands. I looked up at him and saw that he was looking down at me and smiling. "Oh, alright!" I exclaimed. He smiled wider and got up from his spot and pulled me with him. He did that cheesy thing that you see in movies, he twirled me around and slid me down his body. He looked down at me and I looked up at him. He leaned down and planted a soft kiss on my lips. I pushed my lips on his a little more firm and kissed him back.
"Go pack. Cora and I will be in the car." he said smiling at me after we broke from our kiss.
"Alright. I'll be down soon." I said. He started walking away and held onto my hand as he did, letting our hands slip away. I packed quickly and ran down to the car where I found not only Derek's car but also Stiles' familiar blue jeep and Scott's motorbike. I smiled at them both and took them in for a hug.
"Call us and let us know you're okay." Scott said to me. I looked at him and nodded.
"I'm glad your guys' parents are okay." I said smiling at both of them. The returned the smile and I hopped in the passenger seat of the car and looked out the window and them. "And by the way McCall, congrats." I said with a wink. He chuckled and we with that we were off. I looked over at Derek who stole a glance at me and smiled. I returned it and took his hand in mine and intertwined our fingers. I can't wait to see what this journey has in store for us.
