Chapter 15: Not One-Sided

He looked back at us probably with the same shocked expression that all five of us have. Siya ba talaga to? Honestly, I can't remember anything about Miggy, ang alam ko lang ay kaibigan namin siya pero I haven't seen his face sa mga panaginip ko. Lagi siyang nakatalikod sakin.

"Den?" Halos bulong ni Miggy pero malinaw na malinaw naming narinig ito. 

Lumapit naman pareho si Shin at Denise dito at walang atubiling niyakap nang mahigpit ni Denise si Miggy. Tears were running down her face non-stop. Then I saw him stare at Shin then Shin just nodded and looked at him na parang may usapan sila na silang dalawa lang ang nakakarinig at nakakaintindi. Napadpad naman sakin ang mga tingin niya at unti unti siyang umalis sa yakap kay Denise. 

"Mitch?" tanong niya sakin na tinanguan ko lang. He smiled at me and I couldn't help but return his smile.

He then looked at Vin and Angel, curiosity in his eyes. Practically asking kung sino sila.

"This is Angel. Girlfriend ko." Shin broke the silence and introduced Angel.

"I've always thought that its just a matter of time before you two see each other as more than a best friend pero mukhang sakin lang nangyari yun." Miggy stated sabay sulyap kay Denise which made her face turn red.

"Vin." Vin introduced himself and extended a hand towards Miggy. Miggy stared at the hand and then turned to look at me.

"Mitch, kamusta?" Miggy looked at me with such brotherly affection na kagaya nang pagtitig sakin ni Vin. I may not remember him, but I could feel that it was normal for him to be this overprotective towards me.

"Its nice to see you again Miggy." I replied to him with a smile.

"Si Vin nga pala, kaibigan namin." Dagdag ko, para mawala ang hostility between him and Vin.

"Kaibigan? I assumed na boyfriend ka. Sorry for being rude." Then extended his hand towards Vin.

"Not yet but we'll get there." Vin said with a big smile on his face then shook Miggy's hand. His remark causes the other three people with us to look at him and earned him an intense glare from Miggy.

"Dinner tayo together?" tanong ko dahil mukhang walang balak mag alis nang titigan itong dalawa at pagnagtagal pa ay mauwi pa sa away ang pagtatapon nila nang matalim na tingin sa isa't isa.

"Oo nga, sabay ka na samin mag dinner Migs." Pag ayon sakin ni Denise.

"Okay. Tara." Miggy said and pasted the same smile he had before on his face.

Miggy insisted to go with Denise at wala namang nagreklamo duon. Iiinsist nga din niya na sumabay na ko sa kanila when I refused. I know for a fact that the two of them has lots of things to talk about and ganun din kami ni Vin. I want to make things clear between us, kung ano nga ba talaga kami.

We decided to meet up at the restaurant and went our separate ways. Sa umpisa nang byahe ay sobrang tahimik lang namin ni Vin. There is this awkward silence between us na hindi naming alam pano ibebreak until I spoke up.

"Yung sinabi mo kanina..." I started speaking.

"Uhmm" He replied encouraging me to go on with what I was saying.

"About us being together. Well hindi mo sinabi in those exact words pero I assume na yun ang gusto mong sabihin. Hindi sa nag-aassume ako na may gusto ka sakin, maybe you just wanted to piss Miggy off. I don't know. Maybe I'm overthinking things..." I stopped my rambling because of the force from him hitting the brakes and stopping the car. I looked at him still in total shock. I saw him take a deep breath unbuckle his seat belt then turned to me.
