Chapter 20: Coincident or Not?

The three of us were quiet the whole elevator ride, pero malinaw na iisa lang ang iniisip namin. Samantalang ang dalawa ay busy sa pagkukwentuhan lalo na't ilang araw silang hindi nagkita. I hear them talking about some design for a project of theirs, but I couldn't catch any detail about it, or sa kahit na anong pinag-uusapan nila. All I could hear clearly was my own voice inside my head arguing with myself about the suspicion that I have.

Maybe its just a coincident na pareho kami nang condominium building. Si Vin nga din may unit dun na hindi ko alam kung hindi niya pa sinabi sakin.

Maybe so, pero hindi ba nakakapagtaka na at the night that you were receiving unknown doorbells from who-knows-who is the same night na nadoon si Vodka?

There are more than ten units sa floor ko and hindi ko nga alam kung sa wing ba namin nanggaling si Vodka eh. Iisa lang naman ang elevator nang West and East Wing at baka sa West wing ang unit niya which makes it harder for her to pull off the prank.

Bakit? Bukod kay Vin, kilala mo ba lahat nang may-ari nang unit sa East Wing? Hindi diba.

I was stopped in the middle of my inner argument nang bumukas na uli ang elevator at nasa basement parking na pala kami. Vodka said her goodbyes to us at naunang lumabas papunta sa sasakyan niya.

"Migs, is it ok na kay Vodka ako sumabay papasok?" Tanong ni Denise with a big smile on her face as we got off the elevator. Halatang gustong gustong makumbinsi si Miggy dahil alam neto na baka hindi pumayag ang isa lalo na sa mga nangyari this past few weeks.

"Yup, sure. Sabay na lang dito sa magjowa." He replied to Denise returning her smile na ikinagulat din neto.

"See you later?" tanong niya samin in which the three of us replied by nodding.

"Ingat ah. Call us kapag may nangyari." Hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko na balaan siya dahil nag-aalala talaga ko.

"Opo Inay." Pang-aasar naman neto sakin sa she got inside Vodka's car and we just stood there and watched them sped off towards the exit of the parking lot. Vin held my hand and pulled me papunta sa kotse niya while Miggy was following close behind.

"Harap ka na Migs." I told him and proceed to the backseat. The two of them got in the car almost at the same time and we just sat there for a few more minutes before Vin started the car and followed Vodka's car out of the parking and headed off to the University.

"Do you think na may kinalaman si Vodka sa prank kagabi?" pagbasag ni Miggy sa katahimikan na bumabalot samin.

"I can't say na hindi pumasok yan sa isip ko." Sabi naman ni Vin.

"You guys really think na kayang gawin ni Vodka kay Denise yun?" tanong ko sa kanilang dalawa.

"You really think that she wouldn't?" Tanong pabalik sakin ni Miggy.

"Migs, its Vodka were talking about here. Kaibigan ni Denise. The person by her side nung wala tayo sa buhay niya. I don't think that she would do that to her friend. Hindi mo ba nakita kung gano sila kaclose." I explained to them pero sa totoo lang sarili ko ang gusto kong paniwalain sa mga sinasabi ko.

"Ayun nga ang nakakatakot Mitch eh. If she is the one behind this, then she is one amazing actress and one hell of a scary girl." Miggy said still not convinced with my argument.

"Love, do you honestly believe what you just said?" tanong sakin ni Vin which just only solidify to me how I really felt about Vodka. I sat there at the backseat, lost for words to retaliate to them.

"See, you know somethings up with her." Miggy told me. Is something really wrong with Vodka? Or maybe I just don't like her, because of Denise. Maybe I'm just being jealous sa closeness nilang dalawa, that's why I'm second guessing my earlier statements. As far as I'm concern, Vodka never showed me any type of animosity. She seems ok, at baka nga kung nameet ko siya under different circumstances, na hindi niya ko napalitan as Denise's best friend, maybe, just maybe we could have been friends.
