"She did WHAT?" I hear Ransom yell, which nearly makes me jump right into the door.
"You heard me correctly. That so-called girlfriend of yours is already moving on." I may not be able to see Callie physically, but I know she is enjoying telling Ransom this.
Bitch!
"Don't be ridiculous! Evelyn wouldn't flirt with another man." Ransom states bluntly.
"I'm just telling you what I saw, and let me tell you...if she was alone with that man..." Callie's voice is sneering and insolent.
Now I don't regret calling her a peasant!
She actually wants to hurt me. She wants Ransom to leave this room and scream at me and call me a cheater.
"Stop it Callie! Evelyn is not like that. She won't just flirt with a man although, she may flirt with a man unexpectedly." Ransom snickers, "But let's be honest here, she would fail at flirting with any other man."
How rude!
"I know what I saw Ransom. She's playing you! Don't come running to me when you figure out she's only with you for your money." I can hear Callie's voice shaking.
How dare she accuse me of just wanting Ransom's money!
"Are you sure you are not talking about yourself?" Ransom retorts.
SAVAGE!
I cannot help but smile at those words.
"How can you say that? How dare you!" Callie barks.
"I dare...because how dare you bombard into this room and accuse my girlfriend of cheating on me."
Girlfriend?
"Flirting." Callie corrects him. "Well, it will lead to che -"
"Get out!" Ransom says what I presume is through gritted teeth because I cannot quite hear what he said.
I press my ear closer onto the door.
"She - wait, what?"
"You heard me. Loud and clear."
"Well you said it through gritted teeth, so it was not loud and clear."
That proves my theory, but Callie seems to have a lot of attitude on her.
"Get out!" Ransom repeats.
Callie exhales. "Ransom...She is going to -"
"GET OUT!" Ransom begins to vociferate loudly.
"Are you seriously kicking me out? Are you fucking serious? Let's not forget that last week; you wanted to see me, and I think we both know why you wanted to see me specifically."
Ransom spoke with Callie last week? Did he phone her??
I cover my mouth in shock and I fight back the urge to march into the study.
"And that was the worst decision to make last week."
"Why is that? Huh?" Callie fires back.
You know damn well why. Now get out!"
"How dar-"
"GET THE FUCK OUT CALLIE OR SO HELP ME I WILL FIRE YOU!" Ransom bellows.
"GO FUCK YOURSELF! Don't say that I didn't warn you!" Callie shouts back, stomping her foot.
I hear her footsteps getting louder.
Shit! She's walking toward the door!
I race to hide behind a wall.
