I stand completely still.
Frozen in place.
I cannot move.
I should leave this room immediately, but...I cannot move.
"Answer me Evelyn." Ransom says, crossing his arms and leaning against the door.
He is blocking my only escape out this room!
I try to move my legs, but they don't move.
I need to leave dammit!
"I'm waiting." Ransom takes a bite of the cookie in his hand.
How can someone look sexy while eating a cookie?
"I-I-I..." I take a deep breath to calm myself down before I speak because I can feel my heart is racing.
"Spit it out." Ransom looks at the packet of cookies and picks at the crumbs.
"I..." I take another deep breath. "I...oh whatever! I'm leaving this room." I huff and I walk toward to the door – my legs finally respond!
Ransom shifts and blocks my way out this room – of cause he does!
"Please get out my way." I look at his eyes, but I quickly bow my head.
I cannot look at his eyes. I have a feeling he is going to trap me here.
Goodness! I will probably want to stay here, just by looking into his eyes!
"Why?" Ransom asks sarcastically.
I look around the room and then I look at his face, but I avoid his eyes. "I want to leave this room. I have bad memoirs of being in this room."
Why did I even walk into this room?
Oh that's why! 'Cause you are a glutton for punishment you idiot!
Ransom closes the door and he locks it.
No!
"Open the door Ransom." My heart starts to race faster.
"Tell me why you are in this room?" Ransom's voice is low...and sexy!
I shake my head. "I don't know why. I guess I was just curious. I saw the door in the study and thought...Argh! I don't know why I came in here."
What's the point in lying about why I am in this room?
"You do know curiosity killed the cat right?" Ransom smirks.
I frown. "Don't be coy. I don't know what made me want to walk into this room."
"You don't know?" Ransom arches a brow...in a very sexy way.
"I...I..." I exhale and blow my cheeks out, "What does it matter? I want to leave anyway." I lean forward and try to toggle the door to open it, but that is completely useless since Ransom locked the door.
"Why do you want to leave so soon? No one will disturb us in this room."
I look into Ransom's eyes this time, but something is off...his eyes are not bright blue anymore. His eyes look hooded and it almost looks as if they have changed from blue to grey.
Don't be silly! That could just be the light.
But I don't want my Ransom to leave!
Stay with me! My Ransom!
"Please let me leave this room Ransom. I don't want to be in this room." My voice shakes as I say the words.
Ransom starts to walk forward and I automatically walk backward. The bed is behind me, so I quickly move to the side so I won't fall backward.
