(Carrion's POV)
I watched the little black dragonet out the corner of my eye as he entered the library. I smirked unconsciously, and quickly pushed my snout back into my scroll when he turned in my direction.
Stupid, stupid! If you can bring up enough courage, you can tell him! I thought, facepalming with my talon. The longer you wait the more this drags out!
I growled lightly under my breath.
"Carrion?" I heard a soft voice. Peacemaker. "Are you okay? What are you doing here?"
"That's quite a lot of questions." I said, grinning stupidly at the handsome black dragonet.
"You're face looks like you're trying to impress me." Peacemaker said, mostly to himself.
"Uh-ah-really?" I said, covering my blush with a talon.
"Hmm.. now you're hiding something." He said, crossing his arms and staring at me, his questioning gaze meeting mine.
I couldn't help but stare into his pretty eyes. They were silver, but when they hit the light just right, they become a masquerade of colors. I had no idea how long I was staring into his mesmerizing eyes when Peacemaker snapped his claws.
"Hello? Hello? Earth to Carrion?" He said.
I laughed, not the type of 'wow, what a funny joke!' type of laugh, but more like a 'please accept me I'm lonely' type of laugh. I chuckled nervously and Peacemaker let out a contented sigh. He rustled around in the scrolls and pulled out one about Skywings. I raised an eyebrow and he mumbled something about trying to figure me out. He blushed really pink and ran over to Starflight to check out the scroll, practically tripping over his claws.
After checking the scroll out he clutched it to his chest and mumbled a quick goodbye before leaving the library. I groaned unhappily, why couldn't he stay longer? But I didn't question it.
I sat up and walked out the library, heading towards the sound of ruckus. I turned a hallway to be met with the Prey Center. My ears lay flat against my head as I walked in, slightly ruffled by the loud noise.
There were Icewings sitting in one corner, a couple Rainwings and a Nightwing and Sandwing sitting next to a large pile of fruit, and finally a bunch of Nightwings, Mudwings, Sandwings and Skywings sitting side by side eating fish, chicken, pig, cow, any meat imaginable.
I noticed Peacemaker sitting next to a Nightwing I didn't recognize and let out a little "Ah ha!"
He must of heard me, because he looked up from cutting mangoes with a squeak. I grinned and made my way towards him. He was sitting with what looked like a group of all types of dragons, the Nightwing he was sitting next too, a Sandwing sitting next to the same Nightwing with his tail curled around hers, an Icewing and finally a Rainwing sitting next to them, too. A plump sea green Seawing was eating a fish next to the Rainwing.
There were no Mudwings or Skywings, I noticed.
"Hey, who's that?" The little Rainwing squeaked to Peacemaker, who gulped nervously.
"I don't know." Peacemaker mumbled.
Ha! He's pretending he doesn't know me? I snorted.
I walked up to the Winglet and spread my wings wide so they noticed me coming.
"Hey." I said, my eyes glinting against the sunlight and my mouth open to show my teeth.
Peacemaker blushed crazily and tried to hide his face. I just smiled.
"Peacemaker, who's this?" The Nightwing asked him.
"I don't know! I've never seen them before in my life!" Peacemaker wailed.
"Why are you pretending you don't know me?" I asked, though I knew exactly why.
"Hmmm. Hmph!" Peacemaker said something so quietly it was unintelligible and I just giggled.
With a flare of his wings he said something close to "I have to go." and ran out of the room, I craned my neck to look around and followed close behind.
"What do you want?" Peacemaker yelled at me, clearly frustrated as I chased him through the halls.
"Woah! Woah, calm down." I said, concerned.
He huffed and skidded into his cave. Wrapping his wings around himself and hopping into the nest.
He looked extremely upset and I didn't know what to do, merely stepping gingerly into the cave, my eyebrows furrowed in thought. Was it something I did? I probably messed something up. I thought, heating up from frustration at myself.
"It wasn't you. I promise you didn't do anything. If anything, I'm at fault here." Peacemaker mumbled, and I could hear his quiet sniffles. He was crying.
"C'mon, talk to me." I pleaded, moving towards the nest.
"No, no, it's fine..." he trailed off. "It's..."
He burst into tears.
"Hey. Hey!" I said, trying to calm him down. He was shivering and I immediately felt something rushing into my thoughts.
All your fault.
All your fault.
"S-stop..." I muttered weakly.
It's all your fault. You really believe he would want to be friend's with you?
Your fault.
Disgusting
Useless
You are worthless.
"N-no.. No!" I yelled.
"W-what are you doing?" Peacemaker murmured.
"Nothing. Go to sleep." I said, my wing brushing his ever so slightly.
"Hmmm..." He murmured, and quickly I heard the quiet breathing. He was asleep. I sighed long and slow and brought my head to rest in his nest. I was actually quite tired. My legs were stiff and my wings felt wobbly, and with a knowing sigh I realized 8 probably couldn't make it back to my cave.
Without a second thought I snuggled into the nest with him and wrapped my tail around his. I immediately fell asleep, comforted with his warm scales.
