Chapter Three:

I arrived home, and it was already night time. Kai dropped me off, and told me to call him if I need anything. I already know how this is gonna end and I'm not excited about it. I open the door, seeing my step father and my mother standing with their arms crossed, clearly pissed.
"Can I help you?" I ask.
"Have you seen the time?!" My mom shouts.
"Yeah. It's nine and what about it?"
"I am sick of this! Y/N you're grades are slipping out of your hands! You hang out with those gangsters, you're never home, you don't listen to us, you do whatever you want! My daughter is not going to show these disappointing grades! I won't allow it!"
"Firstly, I am not your daughter. Secondly, whatever happens with my grades is my problem. Third, who I hang out with and who I don't is my problem as well and my problem only. I'm just having fun, what's so wrong about that?"
"Don't speak to your father that way!"
"HE IS NOT MY FATHER!"
"You have my last name and that matters more than anything else therefore you are my daughter whether you like that or not!"
"Enough! Joohun and I have decided that from now on you will be homeschooled until you start getting straight a's. You no longer have permission to leave the house unless it's with us and none of your friends will step foot inside our home. Until you can manage getting your grades back up, you will stay here until we see changes. If you don't improve, you will go to Seoul, for a fresh start. Is that understood?" My mom spoke sternly.
I scoff, "of course you'd take his side. Was the love you had for my dad so little? You seem to have forgotten him so quickly that you even got married to his best friend. It took you what? Four months to begin dating this man?"
My mom raised her hand but Jin held her wrist.
"Mom, please."
"Let her hand go, Jin. Do it mom. Hit me to prove my point."
Her eyes were burning with rage but she put her arm down, sighing heavily.
"Go to your room Y/N."
"As you wish. Also, good grades you want? Then good grades you'll get."
I begin walking towards the staircase, glaring at Taehyung on my way upstairs.

"Damn, you've got some nerve. You learned from the best." Kai said.
"Shhhhh! Someone will hear you dumbass!"
"Oh please, we've done this plenty of times and they've never noticed."
"That's because they haven't heard your motorcycle yet." I giggle.
We hear a knock on the door. It's Jin, letting us know someone's coming.
"It's my time to hide."
Kai walks over to my closet and makes himself comfortable. While I grab my phone and pretend I'm on it.
"Will you not eat?"
"No thanks, i happened to lose my appetite plus I have a kitchen in my room."
"Well, I hope you enjoy your time by yourself because you won't have your phone with you starting from eight p.m to seven a.m" Mr. Kim said.
"What?! You can't do that!"
"Didn't your mom tell you? Oops, I guess we left that part out."
He snatches my phone from my grip and leaves the room, slamming the door behind him. I grab my pillow and scream into it, out of anger.
"I hate that man so much. Everything will be okay, cutie. We will all help you with your classes." Kai smiles.
"Thanks babe-" i quickly cover my mouth.
"D-did you just- call me babe?!"
"Yeah..." I blush.
"So then- are we official?!"
"Does this answer your question?"
I pull him in for a kiss, and it takes him a while to kiss back but after a few minutes he responds to my kiss. We separated for some air.
"I love you cutie! Thank you for giving me a chance!"
"I love you too Kai. Thanks to you I can smile again, just like before."
"I'll never let anyone harm you princess. I will protect you even if we end our relationship because you mean the world to me." He smiles.
This is why I love Kai. He may seem like a bad guy but in reality he has a big heart that is made of gold. With him I feel appreciated and cared for but most importantly, safe. Kai showed me a world where nothing matters but what you want and he showed me that what I wanted was freedom and no rules. It's just him and I living our lives to the fullest, being selfish and letting ourselves be who we desire to be.
"You mean more than the world to me, Kai. You will always have a special place in my heart no matter what."
Kai showed me that we don't have to think about the future or live in our reality. Kai and the others became my present. My only priority was my current happiness and nothing else in this world mattered.
