Leo walked out of Splinter's room, feeling like absolute shit. He lied to his father, and even after telling the truth, he couldn't be at peace.
Does he hate me now? No, you told him the truth. Yes, but...I am not the son I am supposed to be. I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry. It's all my fault. Mikey's hurt because of me.

When he was back in his room, he carefully closed the door, not wanting to bring any attention to himself. Leo sat at his bed, staring at his knees. His room wasn't messy, he liked to keep everything in order, and he didn't like having too much stuff around. Shiny katanas on the wall, a small desk with a pen and a notebook, and a chair.

The notebook.

Leonardo got up. The sense of alarm loomed over him. You fucking idiot! You left it here, unprotected and completely approachable! What the fuck is wrong with you!?

With one swift move of his hand, he swiped across the table, pushing the notebook into an opened drawer built into the desk. He can't let anyone read what's in it. They would get mad at him.

After sitting back on his bed, a wave of emotions flushed into him. This was the only place he would let them do that, he knew that his brothers and father would declare him an incompetent leader if he did that in front of them.

"What exactly happened, Leonardo?"

Leo shook his head. He didn't want to relive that conversation again. But it was useless, his mind was wilding, like it wanted to drive Leo crazy.

"Well, you know what I've told you already."
"Feel free to say it again, from the beginning."
"...okay. So, we went in the patrol of the city, like we always do. Nothing happened for some time, then Donnie got a signal on his phone. It showed that the Foot clan is near us. We made a quick arrangement of the way we were going to attack them. We started running, and soon we jumped in front of them. But, something strange happened. They didn't attack us. They turned around and started running in the opposite direction instead. That...should've been my first sign of danger.

Leo lowered his head, unable to continue for a few seconds. Splinter silently observed his behaviour.

"Erm, so...I told the boys to keep going. I wasn't thinking straight at the moment. We chased the clan, following them to the very end of their run. Suddenly, the ground beneath them has moved. A giant hole was made, and a tunnel inside could be seen. One by one, the Foot clan jumped into the hole, and started moving across the tunnel. I was stupid enough to lead the boys inside, thinking that we could easily win the fight inside, when they are trapped. I was wrong, so wrong. We came in, and the hole immediately closed, leaving us in complete darkness. Donnie turned on the flashlights he made, and when we could see clearly, we started walking. I should have noticed that the clan retreated completely, that none of them could be seen. That was an another warning sign. I ignored it, thinking we could be the heroes at the end."

The ocean-eyed turtle stopped. He was embarrased to the bone. His dad did nothing but stare at him all the time, and that only made him feel worse. He cleared his throat and continued.

"Soon we reached a huge door. Raph tried to hear what was happening on the other side, but he heard nothing but silence. I said that they need to prepare themselves for the fight, and that we are going to open the door. They didn't do as I said, but I don't really mind...it would be smarter if I used my brain and figured out it's a trap. Raph told me that we should go back, because this seems suspicious. Donnie and Mikey agreed. I said no. I wanted to continue. And so we did. We opened the door, only to have a weird substance thrown at us. It chained our legs to the floor, we couldn't move anywhere. We were now in a big room, with weird stuff all over it. Suddenly, we heard a voice. Its was laughing. I recognized it instantly; it was Shredder.
