Karl was sitting on a bench in the park. It was a clear night and he could see the stars. One in particular called out to him. He stared at it and noticed it getting brighter. It felt like it was getting closer to him but he couldn't tell. Karl got up from where he was sitting as he noticed this almost blinding light was right in front of him.
He put his hands up to be in front of his face and closed his eyes, wincing at the bright light. When the light died down, he opened his eyes and saw a figure. The figure had a mask over their face; it appeared to be something fluffy looking. The figure tilted it's head to the side as it seemingly admired Karl. It took off the mask to reveal a boy/girl/kid appearing to be his age.
"Uh, what- who are you?" He said, stepping back a little, not sure if this thing was dangerous or not.
"Hello! My name is Y/n and I am your space soul!" the person said, waving their hand.
"What- what's a space soul?" Karl asked, very confused now.
"Oh! A space soul is basically someone that is assigned to look after a human on Earth from the moment they are born until the moment they die. I'm really not supposed to be here but you seemed so interesting that I had to meet you. I hope I'm not scaring you, I just really wanted to get to know the person whose life I'm looking after!" The so-called space soul explained,
"Uh, okay, what is- hello I guess?" He said, less nervous.
"Hello!"
"Uh you said- you were talking about Earth as a whole planet- where- are you not from Earth?" He asked,
"Oh, well you see, I'm from Pluto," The figure said with a grin, "You probably haven't heard much about Pluto as we are not technically a planet...we used to be, before mama Sun said that we were too far for her to care for us. She said that we had to live alone so that's why Pluto isn't a planet anymore.." Y/n said, looking down, seemingly sad about that.
"I see..."
"But it's okay! we still have one friend and that is mother Earth," They smiled, "she takes real good care of us and in return we look after her children, which is all you guys,"
"That's sweet...I think" Karl said, "well, would you like to come back to my house? I was just going to head back soon anyway."
"That would be lovely! I've always wanted to go into a real life human house but papa Pluto doesn't allow it. He says we can't be seen...I shouldn't be here, I'm breaking the rules right now. I- I should go back. He will be so furious." the soul said.
"But- I don't have many friends and I was just hoping maybe you could hang out for a bit," Karl said, looking down at his shoes. The soul grinned,
"Yes! Of course I'll stay. I don't have many friends either so it would be cool to hang out with you" They said with a grin. The soul grabbed onto Karl's hand, "take me to your house," The soul said, grinning. Karl flushed red but led his newfound friend back to his house.
