***LIV***

Everything was wonderful, how else could I put it? I got my job back, Haynes had me back before I could blink. And The boys, oh I missed the boys, they are my true source of happiness, them and my supportive dad and Jasper.

I'd been out of rehab about a week and Jasper was doing so well, I'd visited him every night after work and he was really improving, I was proud of that boy and so thankful for his support. The weather down on the beach today was incredible, like no other day I'd ever seen, it was Honolulu at its finest.

As I pulled my blue top over my head and bikini I felt a pang of pride, I walked into the hut and inhaled taking in my surroundings. The boys were talking, high fiving each other and giving each other bro hugs to say hey and they looked so happy, if they were happy so was I.

"LIVVY" Joe yelled before sweeping me off his feet and over his shoulder, carrying me up the stairs and into the middle of the hut before placing me down.

"You big lump" Joe groaned as he put me down, I was laughing at punching his back the duration of the journey.

"Hey!" I crunched my face up and placed my hands on hips scowling at him.

"I didn't mean it like that" he looked at me from under his eyes smiling cheekily at me.

"You're a knob" I said quickly before grabbing him and putting him into a headlock screwing up his hair.

"What are you? Children?" I suddenly heard from behind me to see Haynes laughing and smiling. I let go almost instantly, brushing myself off trying not to laugh hysterically as Joe looked wounded and very red faced.

"Come on guys, it's a beautiful day, it's time to get to work!! Deano and Kert kids corner, Huts and Luke tower duty and.. Joe and Liv, North side. Do me proud today lads, and Liv"

Joe and I high fived as Haynes placed us together.

"No falling off cliffs today okay?" Joe nudged me as I scowled.

"To soon?" He laughed.

"Absolutely" I grinned.

Luke and I hadn't spoken recently, I decided it wasn't wise to even try, that way he can get on and get over me, and I can live my life not having to worry about him on my back. We ended in a good place, although it was a stern one, and I'll never forget what he did, forgive, but don't forget.

"You boys good?" I smiled and have a thumbs up to Hutz and Luke.

"All good" Hutz grinned giving me a thumbs up back, Luke didn't even turn around from his viewing post, and I wasn't surprised as I followed Joe out of the hut and into the beautiful day.

"Liv, we've got a girl with a spinal, I need the board now!!" Joe radioed as I zoomed up to the hut in the quad. Running into the hut as fast as my legs could carry me and into the back, returning with a spinal board on the back of the quad I was off with a shot.

Spinals were never a nice injury, usually with permanent consequences. The doctor told me I was to be careful whilst back and work, and I have been, whilst everyone stands around, I sit, I only run if I need too, and if my legs hurt then I rest them or take a day off.

Apart from that, my recovery was going so well, I was back to kicking a ball around and catching some awesome waves with the boys.

"I'm here" I muttered as I wrenched the spinal board from the back of the quad and placed it next to the girl, she was only young bless her. As Joe and I manoeuvred her onto the board I got the frac straps out and started to strap the very afraid girl to the board.

"You'll be okay darling, I promise" I hushed the 6 year old girl, her mother had acquired us with the information we needed, as I applied the head blocks and the chin strap.

"Try not to move too much, it's much more comfortable that way" I smiled comfortingly at her before taking her hand and squeezing it.

"I promise you'll be okay" I whispered as she smiled at me through her panicked tears. Joe had done most of the first aid whilst I was getting the board, and he'd done a good job. The ambulance was down the beach ready to collect the young girl and we all together lifted her onto the back of the quad and I drove her to the promenade.

Overall a successful mission of you ask me. I looked at Joe who looked at me after the girl had gone off in the ambulance.

"It's good to have you back you nugget"

"It's good to be back!" I gushed as Joe threw his arm over my shoulder a we headed back to the quad.

The sun was setting and pack up was here, packing up always made me sad because it means I have to leave this beautiful place and head on home, and then I remember that in just a few hours I'll be back. Then it isn't so bad at all.

"You had a good day today lads? And Liv?" Haynes asked as we all cheered and smiled together closing the shutters to the wonderful sunset outside.

"Well done Luke in spotting that kid out the back who was really struggling, if it wasn't for you he'd be long gone" Luke blushed at Haynes kind words and we all cheered and clapped for Luke who looked embarrassed, embarrassed but happy.

"And to you Joe and Liv for that spinal Injury on that young girl, that was incredible work, I couldn't have asked for anyone better on the job. Hopefully she'll be okay and it'll be all thanks to you lovely lot" everyone clapped and cheered Joe and I as we laughed and ran chest bumping each other in the middle of the hut.

"The rest of you, you all did amazing today too especially in this heat, keep up the good work" Hoppo smiled as he left the hut, all of us beaming with the praise we'd been given

"What a day" I sighed as we left the hut.

"Yeah, it's been pretty good!" Harrison laughed as I walked out into the sunset sky, Joe following

"And what a sunset to finish the day on" I gushed as I looked all across the beach at the beautiful sky.

At this moment I realised. Never would I let my heart condition get the better of me, never would I let anything stop me from playing football, surfing, swimming. But most of all. NOTHING could stop me from doing the job I do, there's nothing I love more than this job, these people, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

These people are what makes me, this place, my home, my hobbies, my bloody buggered legs and heart, it makes me who I am today. A really damn strong woman with good friends and lots of love, a great dad and an incredibly journey ahead (once my legs heal, of course).

All the boys and I stood on the steps of the beach watching the sun go down with smiles on our faces I inhaled and grinned looking left to the right at my boys.

"What?" Harrison laughed as all the boys smiled at me.

"Boys, it's good to be back"
