It had been strange waking up the next morning purely because it had been so long since you'd woken up to having someone's arms wrapped around your waist. You couldn't help but smile thinking about it. It had now been about a week since you'd slept together. It wasn't awkward between you like you thought it'd be. Everything stayed pretty similar to how it had been before, except that now once Amai had gone to bed, you'd both cuddle and kiss or....relive the events of the night of your birthday. Amai had gotten used to waking up and coming into the kitchen to see Mamma and Roki cooking breakfast before he went off to do his hero work. Sometimes, on his days off, he'd even stay all day and look after Amai while you worked. You'd decided to give him a spare key because you were often cleaning the cafe when he finished his patrol and it was quite late in the year and too cold for him to e waiting outside for you. It was peaceful for the first week, that was until you got a text from Amai's father.
Amai's Father:
Hey Sugar, Make sure the Cafe's cleared out by 4, I'm coming to see Amai. I hope you had a good birthday. Can't wait to see you.You internally groaned. Looking over to the clock you decided to close early. It was 1pm so you'd finished the lunchtime rush and you wouldn't have any more customers until 4 anyway. You closed up the café and cleaned up quickly before going into the back and giving Amai a bath. You mentally reminded yourself to text Shoto and tell him not to come. The minute Amai had finished bathing she started running around and fidgeting waiting for her dad. She could never calm down when it came to seeing her dad. You gave her something to eat and drink to hopefully keep her occupied while you cleaned up the house a bit before he arrived. After you'd finished cleaning everything you were interrupted by a knock at the door. Glancing at the clock you noticed that it's only ten to three. Her father said four so it must be someone else. Heading to the door, you unlocked it and opened it. You eyes widened at the man standing before you, a gift bag and a bouquet of beautiful blue flowers in his hands, his defining smirk on his face. "Hey, sweetheart. You look great." It was him, and he was far too early for your liking. You grabbed his arm and dragged him inside, closing and locking the door. You spun on your heel and glared at him. "You said 4pm. It's nowhere closed. What are you thinking?" You whisper shouted, hoping to not alert Amai who was concentrating very hard on a colouring book she had found in the cupboard under the TV. He shrugged as you fumed, kicking off his shoes. "Am I not allowed to be excited to see my daughter and her gorgeous mother?" He leaned down and pecked your cheek gently, holding out the flowers and gift bag. "Sorry it's so late, I've been struggling to get out lately." You roll your eyes and take the gifts. "What do you expect, you're a criminal." You lead him through to the living room. He barely got through the door before Amai threw herself at him with an excited squeal. He picked her up and hugged her tightly, spinning her around. You couldn't help but smile at the huge grin on both their faces. You headed into the kitchen to put the flowers in a vase with some water. You headed out to the passageway to put them on the cabinet by the door before heading back into the kitchen to make drinks while Amai sat on her dad's lap and chatted to him about everything that had happened since they last saw each other.
You did your best to stay out of the way, after all, the only reason he was here was because of Amai, he didn't really need to talk to you. You were preparing yours and Amai's dinner when you felt something tug on your shirt. You looked down to see your daughter. "Mamma, come sit with me and Papa, it must be super lonely in the kitchen all by yourself." You couldn't help but smile. Your child was so sweet at times. You covered up the food you were preparing and picked her up, taking her back through to the living room and sitting on the floor next to her dad. She sat happily in the space in the middle of your legs because you were sat Criss cross applesauce and continued to chatter to her dad. You jumped into the conversation every now and then, laughing with them both. Even though you knew how dangerous he and his life were, he could still make you laugh and feel comfortable just like before. Amai stood up and gently touched his face. "They look better than last time, Papa. Did you use the special cream Mamma gave you?" He smiles and takes her little hand, kissing the back of it before holding it in his large one. "Of course I did sugarlump. Your mamma used it on her face and she looks absolutely stunning so it must work." A large grin spreads across her face as you roll your eyes only for them to widen as Amai squishes your cheeks together. "You're right Papa, Mamma's the prettiest lady on the planet!" You felt the tears well in your eyes as you hugged Amai tightly. You been feeling stressed since this morning due to his very short notice visit but kind words from your daughter had removed all of that stress. She hugged back happily before moving back and smiling at you. "I bet Roki thinks so too. We should ask him when he comes over next." You wished the ground would swallow you up as you saw him turn to look at you in your peripheral vision, his eyebrow raised. "Who's Roki, (Y/N)?" You shook your head and moved Amai onto his lap as you stood up, heading into the kitchen. Amai giggled devilishly. "Roki is mamma's boyfriend." You poked your head around the door, scowling at her. "He is NOT...we....we haven't...even talked about what we are, so you know just as much as I do. He's just a hero who helped when there was an intruder and then we just...became close. He mainly comes over because of Amai, apparently Endeavour's his dad or something." You ignored the slight flinch, assuming Amai was just sat weird on his lap. "Anyway, you know how much she loves that hero for some reason. So just let it be, yeah?" You go back into the kitchen to get something to drink. Just as you sat back down after getting a drink there was a knock at the door. Amai jumped up to go answer it because you'd just sat down. You turned to her father. "I promise you, if anything comes of me and him, I'll make sure to tell you, yeah?" He gave you a strange look, one that you'd never seen him give before, not even when you left him. It was like he was hurt. "As long as he doesn't hurt you, I don't mind who you date...just.....be careful around his dad, I've....heard that he's not a nice guy." You nodded. You agreed with him entirely. You'd also heard that he wasn't a nice guy. You were interrupted by Amai coming back into the room dragging someone with her. "This is my Papa!" Your blood ran cold as you saw who it was that she'd dragged in. He'd frozen in the doorway, his eyes fixed on Amai's dad, who sat there, also frozen. Shoto was pale, paler than usual. He looked slightly scared. The tension was crushing. Finally, after an eternity of silence, Shoto spoke.
"Touya?"
