A/N: I just wanna repeat that this plot line is NOT CANNON. There are some manga spoilers because they help the story to move along but in this chapter you'll see that the League Of Villains has been disbanded. This HAS NOT happened in the manga. The story is not cannon. On another note, please enjoy.

You barely got any sleep the next few nights. You were constantly plagued by the pain look on Shoto's face and thoughts of what would happen to Amai if her identity got out. After about a week you were more than exhausted. It didn't stop you though. You had more than plenty to do, what with the Café and Amai. It was coming up to spring and so there would soon be an influx of tourists in the city which meant everywhere else would be packed so you would get more customers. You had to make sure you were prepared for that. You passed a mirror as you pulled your hair back into a tight bun. The deep purple of your under eye bags shocked you. You tried not to look in mirrors too often because you'd always hated the way you looked, and the scar across the left side of your face didn't help. It was a painful reminder of what you went through. A lot of people would admire the type of relationship you were in. You were lucky. He'd never hit you or made you feel bad. He'd made you feel like the only girl on the planet and had never given you any reason to doubt him, but his words stuck with you no matter where you went. He wasn't controlling but you'd been too blind-sided to notice the clues he was giving you about the dangerous situation you had been in. All of the lessons and the lectures and the repeated sentences made you almost scared to go outside anymore. While you were pregnant with Amai, he'd always come and make sure you knew that she wouldn't be able to go to school and she wouldn't be able to know anything about him and how she could never tell anyone about him and how she'd probably never be allowed to have a normal childhood all because he was part of this underground organisation. When Amai was three, his group was busted. Most of them went to prison, including the girl who had cut you. Somehow, Touya had managed to get out of it, you assumed his father might have something to do with it now that you knew who his father was, but he had to go into hiding while his public image calmed down. You still remember that year and a half of sleepless nights you spent awake trying to get her to stop crying because she missed him and didn't understand why he wasn't coming to see her. Her dependence on her dad only grew after he got back. He'd started having to come over so much more often because she'd miss him so much and she'd be so scared he'd disappear again. He even stayed over a few times because she clung to him so tight after she fell asleep he couldn't leave. It hurt you having to watch her go through that and not be able to give her a definite answer as to when he would be back. You were just glad he was coming to see her regularly again. She had seemed much happier.

The day took a lot out of you. You were even more exhausted after you'd closed up and cleaned. You headed into the back of the shop to tidy up in there a little. Amai wasn't home yesterday or today. She'd gone to spend time with her dad. This didn't happen often but he'd managed to find a house on the outskirts of the city about 15 minutes away from home. He had a huge back garden so you were sure she'd been running around and playing the whole time. You looked at the clock. She was due to be home in half an hour but knowing Touya, he'd either be super early or super late. You were heading into the kitchen to prepare food for Amai's return but you never made it that far.

Your heavy eyes flitted open to see your living room on its side. You were vaguely aware of an ache in the pit of your stomach telling you that you were hungry. You rolled over and snuggled further into whatever pillow was under your head. You were more than comfortable as a hand started gently stroking your hair. It was a feeling you were familiar with. Touya used to do it when you were upset. It was nice and comforting and made your sleepy mind feel at ease. As you slowly began to fully wake up the reality of the situation kicked in. You eyes snapped open and you rolled onto your back, looking up at the gentle, scarred face of your ex-boyfriend. His lips tilted up into a small smile as he continued to stroke your hair. "Hey sleepyhead, how're you feeling?" You tried to get up but he gently held you down. "No no, stay still. You bumped your head a little so you should stay lying down." Your brows furrowed as you looked up at him. You cursed yourself for being so calm and relaxed around him. "I hit my head?" He nodded, gently resting his finger against a spot on your head making you wince a little. He removed his hand and went back to stroking your hair, it was kind of like he was doing it without knowing. It was soothing. "Yeah, I brought Amai home and we knocked on the door but you didn't answer so I got the spare key from under the plant pot by the door. I was worried so I checked Amai's room first and got her to go straight in there and hide in case someone had broken in. I came through here and found you passed out on the kitchen floor. I made sure you were in a comfortable position before getting Amai ready for bed and then came back through and made sure you were okay. And now here we are. How are you feeling?" You paused for a second, letting your body do a little self-diagnostic before you came up with an answer. You look him in the eyes and told him in the most serious voice. "Hungry." He let out a small chuckle before helping you sit up. You reluctantly removed yourself from his warm lap and leaned back into the cushions. "You stay there and relax, I'll cook you something nice." You laughed and carefully stood up to follow him into the kitchen. "Like I'm gonna let you loose in my kitchen. Do you not remember what happened last time. Mrs.Debonair almost had a heart attack when the smoke alarms went off." He laughed and shrugged. "Fair point, well made." You let yourself laugh with him while you both cooked and joked. For the first time in a while you felt at peace. The voice in the back of your head telling you not to get comfortable was gone when you needed it most.
