It took almost an hour longer to get ready for business this morning. Amai was in one of those moods where she was doing everything she could to stop your from being able to work. 30 minutes of that was spent on just trying to get her up and out of bed, then another 10 went on her deciding what she wanted for breakfast, then another 20 on her crying because she wanted to go to the park. Sometimes you couldn't help but sit back and wonder whether it would be easier if her dad were still around permanently but then you mentally slapped yourself, remembering the very very important reason why he only had supervised visits and why he was never allowed to leave the house with her. There was a reason for everything you did in life, and while Amai wasn't actually planned, everything you'd done after that was done only to benefit her. Even though you ran your own business, it was still better to do this than work a corporate job because it meant that you could keep her by your side in the Café you owned. With the money you have after paying for bills and buying produce went towards a tutor for Amai. It wasn't the best education but, yet again, due to who her father was you had to be careful where she went. Her relation to him was meant to be a very tightly kept secret but even the best kept secrets can be pried from someone if they're put under enough pressure. You'd seen it for yourself. You finally got Amai into a decent mood by giving her one of her favourite, freshly baked cakes to eat while you unlocked the shop. It wasn't long before her tutor showed up with her huge rucksack of books she always brought. She wasn't the most professional or well-kept tutor out there but Amai liked her, and she taught her in a way that made it fun and easy to understand. Even you'd learned things from her, which was easy to do because you didn't really get the best education due to your family's financial situation. Despite their profound lack of money, when the time came, they still put forward all of their life savings to help you buy the Café. If it weren't for them you had no idea what kind of life you and Amai would be living right now. The clock ticked leisurely forward until the official opening time. You flipped the sign in the door and decided to prop open the freshly cleaned glass door to let in the gentle spring breeze. Business was about to begin.

Flipping the chair over, you rested the seat against the table. Your final customer had left and now it was time to package up any surplus products and give the place a little spritz. There had been a large number of children in today so there was quite a mess under a lot of the tables. While you tried to clean up during the day it was hard because you were the only person working. You couldn't afford to employ someone else. Tightening the messy ponytail in your hair, you got to cleaning. After about ten minutes of packing up cakes and buns and donuts and sandwiches in little takeaway boxes in the back you heard the bell above the door jingle, which was strange. It was 10pm. It was very clear on the door that the café was closed so who was stupid enough to walk in. You put the tongs down on the counter you head into the front. "I'm really sorry but I'm closed right no-" You're cut off by the feeling of cold metal against your throat. Your body tenses but then you relax. You can't panic. Times like these were the only times you were glad to have known Amai's father, he'd taught you quite a lot in how to protect yourself and how to act in situations like this. "Well aren't you a pretty thing. It'd  be a shame if I had to cut you, so why don't you go ahead and empty the register for us, hm?" You let your eyes wander over to the knife wielder. You couldn't tell what his quirk was so you decided not to fight back. "I'd love to, but there seems to be a large weapon in my way, would you mind moving it?" You made your voice as sweet as possible. This caused the intruder to chuckle as he gently moved the knife away from your neck, giving you the age old "no funny business." You slowly made your way over to the counter, inputting the code to open the till. "You know, I hope you're not hoping for a lot of money, because we aren't that successful of an establishment." You moved slowly, carefully, making sure not to provoke any violence in him. As you began putting the money into the bag, you heard the door to the back room open. No one else was in there. No one except...
