You woke up feeling as though your body had been hit by three trains. Dragging yourself up and out of bed you were startled by the sounds of conversation in the living room. Your eyes widen slightly as you see Shoto sat on the floor with Amai who has been bathed and is now fully dressed again. You smile slightly as you come further in and sit on the sofa. You weren't even sat down for a second before Amai threw herself onto you lap and hugged you, telling you about what Roki made her for breakfast. You couldn't help the smile as you watched Shoto out of the corner of your eyes. He was sat on the floor, listening to Amai with the hugest smile on his face. He really did love your daughter, almost as if she was his own. Your brain went into overdrive. What if Amai would have a better life if Shoto were the one you chose? How different would it be? You were snapped out of your thoughts by Amai calling your name. "Mamma? What's wrong? Do you not want waffles?" You looked up at her and smiled. "Actually, yes please, you made them sound so yummy." She smiled widely and clambered down off your lap and followed Shoto into the kitchen to help him make you some waffles, leaving you alone with your thoughts. It didn't take long for your mind to spiral as you burdened yourself with the decision you would have to make. You couldn't ignore how immature you'd been until now. You'd been putting your own whimsical desires before anything and you had no idea what kind of effect that might have been having on Amai.  You were almost disgusted with yourself for what you had been doing. You all but decided that you were going to choose neither of them. You needed to start putting Amai first again.

A knock at the door snapped you out of your thoughts. As you limped over to the door to answer it the sound of Amai's giggles from the kitchen brought a huge smile to your face. Pulling open the door, you were faced with a smiling Touya. He leaned in and kissed your cheek before sauntering past you and into the kitchen with the others, leaving you stunned in the doorway. You regained your composure and dragged your aching body back into the living room, dropping yourself onto the sofa to continue thinking. It was good that Touya was there now because it meant you only had to say it once. The sweet smell of treacle and waffles filled your nose as Amai came through with a glass of juice followed by Shoto with a steaming plate of waffles for you, a smile on his face. Touya followed shortly after with a cup of coffee that he'd helped himself to. You sat and ate your waffles, which were in fact delicious, as you laughed and talked with them all. It was nice. It was distracting you from the crushing guilt you felt about having to turn both of these men down.

Once the food was finished and the pots were cleaned you headed through to your bedroom to get dressed, subtly indicating for Shoto and Touya to follow so that you could get it  out of the way. As you all congregated in the bedroom, leaving Amai to play with her toys, your heart was thundering. You plopped down on the bed and looked at your hands, trying to think of what to say. Shoto interrupted your thoughts before you could even speak. "You're gonna turn us both down aren't you? I can tell. You're thinking that you should close off your emotions and put Amai first and the best way to do that is to ignore any romantic feelings you have and focus on raising her. Right?" You looked up at him, tears pricking your eyes as you registered the pain in his. He was hurting, and bad, but there was nothing you could do. As a mother you had to put your child first, and the only way to do that was, as Shoto said, to shut off your emotions and ignore romantic feelings. You let out a breath and nodded. "You're right....I'm sorry..." He let out a breath and nodded. "I need....uh....I need some air, I'm going outside." Shoto turned on his heel and sped from the room, leaving you alone with Touya, the only sound in the room being your sniffling to try and keep the tears at bay. You almost flinched as his hand came to rest on your shoulder. "You love him, don't you?" You looked up at him, shocked by his question. His lips curve upwards into a soft smile. "It's okay, I've known the whole time, I was just trying to make the most of it before you realised yourself. Look, Amai adores Shoto, probably more than she does me, and I don't really blame her. No matter who you love, I'm still Amai's dad and that won't change, but I don't want that to get in the way of your happiness. All I want is to see both my girls live a happy fulfilling life. So, if you truly do feel as much for Shoto as your eyes are telling me right now, then go tell him." You close your eyes for a second as he kisses your hair before you stand, ignoring the screams of protest from your body as you sprinted down the hall to the front door, ignoring your shoes and running out into your yard. He was nowhere to be seen. You rounded the building and ran out into the street, spinning to catch sight of him. Finally your eyes locked onto him, sat on a wall by the front of your cafe, head in his hands. You ran up to him. He lifted his head to look up at you and your heart broke once more. There were tears streaming down his cheeks. The tears you had been withholding yourself finally spilled over. He stood, alarm covering his face. "Are you okay? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" You grabbed a fistful of his shirt, pulling him towards you as you connected your lips for the first time in over two months. It wasn't a heated kiss like the last few times, and it didn't feel pleasurable like kissing Touya did last night. But it did, however, feel right. you felt as though every missing puzzle piece had finally fallen into place. You moved back after a little while and met his gaze again. "I love you, Shoto Todoroki. And I'm sorry it took me so long to realise it." He wrapped you in his arms then, sweeping you off your feet as he hugged you tightly, burying his face in your neck as you both cried and cried. He set you down after a few minutes and smiled at you, cupping your cheek gently. "I love you too, (Y/N) (L/N)." His smile was infectious, dragging the corners of your own mouth upwards. His smile dropped as he noticed your bare feet and pyjamas. "Oh lord, let's get you inside before you freeze or hurt yourself." He swept you off your  feet again, princess carrying you back into the warmth of your house, a smile on both of your faces.
