5 years later

Third Person POV:

Some things stay the same and some continues to grow.The community continues to thrive in peace and harmony and with Tom and Y/n's leadership, their walls continues to expand, people gets to have another chance in life and even in the midst of the apocalypse they remained safe.

Gal stood at the porch of her house with Tom together with Katie as they watch their respective lovers play with Shawn.

Gal couldn't help but smile, he and Tom have so much in common but he also got y/n's jokester attitude. She really became the cool aunt that Shawn loves to be around with.

"Do those two dollop head know that teaching Shawn how to play pranks will bite them in the ass one day when he's old enough?" Katie asked Gal from beside her.

Gal chuckled at Katie's statement it is true it will bite them in the ass one day but memories like this could not be replaced in the young boy's mind forever.

"We'll just laugh at them when the time comes." She tells Katie.

All Katie could do is smile, really thankful that she got to have Gal as a friend throughout the years. The fact that Gal was y/n's past never hindered them from creating a beautiful friendship. They confide in each other especially when they worry about their lovers going out for a run, they give each other advice whenever one would have a fight with their other half, they became a sister in the process and Katie became Shawn's second mother together with y/n.

Time does fly when you're having fun and y/n proved that in her everyday life. She couldn't really believe that it has been 5 years since she first met the love of her life 5 years since they started to rebuild the community, 5 years since her new found friendship with Gal and Tom, and also 5 years since little Shawn was born.

Life still has a way of showing her that it's worth living, there are still dangers around them but with her friends Tom and Gal, her cute little nephew, and her true love Katie, she feels like she's on the top of the world... her family gave her a new life.

Finally retreating on her bedroom, Y/n sighed happily as she lays down on the bed.

"Had fun?" Katie asked her from the doorway.

Y/n lift her head smiling at the sight of her beautiful girlfriend.

"I did." Y/n said still not over the fact of how great her day was.

"That's great because I want to talk to you about something." Katie said as she slowly walks across their bedroom to sit beside the person who holds her oure kind heart.

Y/n suddenly sat up looking at Katie.

"Is there a problem?" She asks, a look worry evident in her face.

"No! No, there's no problem here, my love." Katie said laughing lightly at her worried girlfriend.

"I just wanted to show you... or uhh give you something... rather." She rambled

"I've been thinking about this for a few months now and I think it's time." She added holding her lover's hand.

Reaching from her back pocket with her left hand, Katie looks into y/n's eyes with love and passion as she brings out a ring... her family heirloom to be precise.

"You are the love of my life, and you are also my bestfriend. I thank the Gods every night that I managed to find you in the deserts and save you from death, I've never thought I could ever have a family again. For the first time... I was truly happy again because of you and I know we can't technically get married considering whole apocalypse but I wanted you to have this ring as a symbol of my love for you." Katie paused as she holds y/n's hand with her right.

Y/n couldn't believe what's happening in front of her, she couldn't believe what Katie is doing. It's all too good the be true she thought.

"You are the light of my life, y/n. Without you I'd still be alone in darkness. I saved you from death but you saved me from my dark thoughts. You bacame the center of my world and now I could not live without you in it. I love you with all my heart and I will forever cherish you as long as the Gods persists us to live." Katie finished as tears fall down in her face.

Both overwhelmed with their love for one another they just held each other for a few minutes before y/n spoke.

"I love you so much Katie. My life became better when I met you. We had our fights but you stayed with me... you made me strong as well as you make me weak, you bring out the best and the worst in me and throughout all you my flaws, you continued to love me. I promise you a life full of love amidst all the chaos outside our walls, I'll protect you with my life because you are my savior, my bestfriend, the love of my life, and the center of my universe. I love you to the heavens." Y/n answered her heart.

Moved by each other's speech the two lovers connected their lips sharing a love filled kiss. Some say that heartbreak brings us closer to the person we're meant to be with, and with all the heartbreaks they've experienced the two lost soul finally found each other.

Breaking apart from their kiss, Katie slipped the ring in y/n's finger.

"A perfect fit." She said kissing y/n in her forehead.

"This is the start of our forever." Katie added.

Y/n nods at she smiles admiring the ring that Katie gave her. Through hell they found each other, and now they have created their heaven.

"Forever."
