XXIII.

Tom's POV

I can't believe that piece of shit has the nerve to show up and beg y/n not to kill him. As much as I wanted him to die, I want him to suffer much more than we had suffered.

I went to the shed where I tied him down, with Katie following me. Y/n beat him up pretty good, and to avoid him from dying too soon, Katie would have to treat his wounds.

"Wake up." I shouted at Peter as I spilled a bucket of water on his head.

Peter was shocked by my sudden outburst,  nevertheless he deserved to be treated this way.

"Katie is going to stitch you up, if you ever try to harm her this time I won't stop y/n from killing you." I told him as I forced him to sit up.

I gave Katie a light pat of the shoulder before going back to the house to check up on Gal.

"Are you alright, love?" I asked as I sat down next to her.

"How did you guys find him?" She asked clearly upset that Peter's here.

"We heard a noise when we were packing the supplies, he was caught in our trap. Y/n almost killed him, she completely blacked out." I told her.

"You should've let her kill him then." Gal said.

"You don't mean that. Surely you don't. I get that we're all enraged but that's enough bloodshed." I told her.

"I wouldn't have to lose y/n because of him." She told me.

I got angry at what she said, if we never found y/n she'll still be living with me without guilt.

"Last time I fucking checked it takes two to create a fucking child. You made your choice too Gal, live with it! You don't think I can see how your trying to win back her love? What about us? What about the things you said the night we made love? Were all of those just lies?!" I angrily told her unaware that I was already raising my voice on her.

She remained silent.

"Make up your mind Gal. I made a mistake by giving in on you but I'm willing to pay for the price and make a sacrifice... you clearly don't. You can't hurt y/n again, just give it up." I finished as I walked away from her and into our room.

Y/n's POV

I heard every word Tom has said. I can't believe after all this time Gal is still trying to win me back while Tom is being left behind to pay the price of what they've done.

She managed to hurt me and now she's hurting Tom and I'm not gonna let her hurt me the second time around. Our time together is done and she needs to accept that.

I walked out my room only to find Gal alone, making dinner.

"Hey." I greeted her.

"Oh, hey. How are you feeling?" She asked me.

"Just fine." I told her.

"Do you know where Katie is?" I asked Gal.

Her expression changed once she heard Katie's name, jealousy evident in her eyes.

"I-I think she's on the shed treating Peter's wounds. You beat him up pretty bad." She said.

I nodded at her.

"He deserves it anyways." I told her before leaving her to finish cooking so I could go to Katie.

Heading to the shed I can hear Katie telling Peter to hold still. I went to the entry way only to see Peter squirming like a child.

"If you don't fucking hold still, I swear to God I'll beat you up into a worse state that you are in now." I told Peter in a sinister voice.

That seems to scare Peter enough to hold still while Katie continues to treat her. I took a seat next to where Katie's medical equipments are as I watch her silently do her job.

Staying on the shed to watch Katie work made her job easier as Peter is now too scared to move unless being told to do so.

Not long after, Katie was finally done. I helped her pack her things up then told Peter that we would bring him food shortly after.

Yes I almost killed him but he's still alive and he needs food to survive, I'm not that heartless.

"C-can I talk to you?" Peter asked before we could leave.

Both Katie andnI stopped ot our tracks to face him and I urged him to continue.

"Go on." I said.

"I was wrong. I w-was too consumed by revenge that I didn't even bother to check if what you were saying about my Father was true." Peter said as he looked down at his feet trying to muster up the courage to speak futher.

"They ate them... after I ordered my men to leave you to die... they went back to their old ways, eating the weak, saving the strong." He cried.

"I'm s-sorry y/n... I'm sorry for what I did to our family."

Hearing the word 'family' from Peter seemed to trigger something in me.

"YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO CALL US FAMILY AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE! YOU'VE CAUSED OUR PEOPLE TO GET MURDERED! YOU KILLED MY UNCLE AND SHAWN IN FRONT OF ME, YOU DESERVE EVERY OUNCE OF PAIN THAT WE'VE ALL FELT!" I shouted at his face, crying at his confession.

I can fell Katie's arms wrapped around my body, it helped me calm down as she slowly backs me away from Peter.

Holding my hand, she gestured for us to leave before things get worse. Wiping my tears, I followed her outside.

We went back inside the house, Tom told us that dinner was ready but after what happened back at the shed, I feel like resting for a while.

"You guys go ahead, y/n and I will follow soon after." Katie replied for me.

I smiled at her, she really knows what to say and/or do whenever I'm upset. After setting her things down at the coffee table, she joined me on the couch, taking mt hand.

"I'm glad you we're able to control yourself back there y/n" Katie said with a smile.

"If it wasn't for you, I could've killed him. Even though I hated him I don't know if I could ever take the guilt of killing him" I said I leaned my body closer to hers.

I felt Katie caressing the back of my hand, causing me to feel a sense of calmness and saftey.

"Thank you for always being here for me, Katie." I told her as I look up to stare at her beautiful green eyes.

"You're safety and happiness became my priority the moment I met you." She said looking back at me with utmost sincerity and love.

"You are my safe haven."

As those word came out of my mouth, I felt her lips on mine causing millions of butterflies to errupt in my stomach. Pulling her closer I felt her hand on my cheeks, caressing it with so much love.

Everything became magical I never thought something like this could still happen to me after what everything that has happened to me.

"Wow." Was all I could manage to say after our kiss. Katied rested her forehead on mine as we savour our moment together.

"I've been wanting to do that for a long time, I like you a lot y/n" Katie finally said looking into my eyes.

"I like you too, Katie." I said finally admitting it too myself.

Without hesitating Katie cupped my cheeks again, kissing me for the second time, once again causing butterflies to errupt in my stomach.
