XVII.

Katie's POV

Y/n and I continued building our traps first thing in the morning.

She honestly made my life easier, she was caring and protective. She always made sure that I was never hurt during our runs causing her to be a bit reckless. If it wasn't for my knowledge if nursing I wouldn't be able to help her heal everytime she endangers herself for me.

We're almost out of food and I can see y/n determination to finish our trap and execute our plan.

As I look qt her, I can't help but notice how beautiful she is. The way her brows pull together whenever she concentrates on her work, or whenever she smiles when she talks, or her scrunched up nose when she's confused.

Even though I'm helping her her find her Girlfriend and can't help but fall  into her even more.

I would only hope that someday she'd reciprocate my love for her, but for now... if finding her love is the only way to make her truly happy, then I'll gladly help her.

Y/n's POV

As I try to concentrate on building our trap, I can't help but notice Katie staring at me. Deciding to just ignore her, I continued on my work hopefully forgetting her stares.

Katie and I bonded through the months we've been together. She saved my life and it's fitting for me to save her everytime danger comes her way and I'd do ut all over again in a heartbeat.

I love how she gets worried whenever I do rash things to save her. How she gently treats my wounds, how she holds my hand when the alcohol stings. She makes me vulnerable and for the first time ever, I don't mind.

Gal's POV

We left our camp yet again early in the morning, Tom is extremely worried about the heat but I assured him that our baby and I are okay.

"Hang on tight a bit longer love, we're almost near their place." He assured me.

I nodded at his words as I start to get nervous. That's odd, I've never felt this way wherever Tom and I move to a new place.

"Is there something wrong? Are you okay? Is the baby okay?" Tom asked, visibly starting to panic.

I cupped his cheeks to calm him down.

"I'm fine, Tom. Just a bit nervous that's all. I don't know why I'm feeling this way though. Maybe it's because we're meeting other people again after almost a year." I sighed.

Tom let's out a breath of relief after I told him I was fine. He took my hand and kissed it, assured me that everything is going to be fine.

After a few minutes walking we finally arrived on the hide out. At this point my heart started to beat out of my chest but I managed to calm myself down.

We put our bags to the ground as Tom starts calling our for the peope living in the hideout.

"Hello? Is anybody here? We need help, we are wondering if maybe we could stay with you even just for a few days." He calls.

Y/n

After finishing our remaining traps Katie put her hands on my mouth asking me to stay silent.

"Shhh... I think someone else is here." She whispers as she slowly removes her hand on my mouth and listens.

"Hello? Is anybody here? We need help, we are wondering if maybe we could stay with you even just for a few days." A strangely familiar voice calls out.

I pulled my eyebrows together in confusion as I looked at Katie.

"What are we going to do?" I asked her as I feel my heartbeat rise.

"Well we'll see who they are." She told me taking out her weapon for protection.

I took out mine as well as we slowly move closer to the source of the voice.

"We mean no harm. My wife is pregnant and we need a place to stay." The voice added.

Katie gripped the door handle as she looks at me. Nodding, I signaled her to open the door.

We both stepped out with her behind me as to protect her from possible danger.

I gasped at the sight in front of me... I couldn't believe my eyes. I dropped the weapon in my hands not believing that Tom and Gal are in front of me.

"Y-you're alive?" Gal gasped as I saw tears running down her face.
