POV HOPE

Almost three weeks, that was the time that had passed since we beat Malivore.  Landon came back to me, I can never describe the relief I felt at having him back.  But after the euphoria, he was kind of weird.  As much as I tried to ignore distance from him;  his lapses in aggressive behavior and even his cold stare from time to time, something in me tells me that this is more than post-traumatic disorder because he was possessed by a demonic father.  The move to the Mystic Falls school helped not to think about it too much, but it was inevitable.  At one time or another we would have to talk about what was going on, and I felt that I would have to bring it up.

The bell rang, bringing me back to reality.

L: - Okay, Hope, you will help in the kitchen.

H: - What?  - I asked confused, I was unaware of the subject.

L: - It will help in the kitchen.

H: - Okay, Lizzie, I heard that.  But for what ?

J: - She forgot.

H: - I forgot what?

Then Lizzie pointed to the sign on the hall wall: MYSTIC FALLS ANNUAL HISTORICAL FAIR.  The damn fair.  It was an event in the city that we had to participate in, it was the type of interaction that we had to have in order not to raise suspicions of our isolation.

H: - Ahh.  But what does this have to do with me helping in the kitchen?

L: - Okay, Mikaelson, you are in the world of the moon, I understand.  The idiotic cheerleaders at this school will set up a food stall at the fair, we at Salvatore School will also have one.  And, as much as it costs me to admit it, you make delicious and well-decorated sweets, that is ...

I looked at Josie with a question in her eyes: "I'm not going to be able to get away from this, am I?"  And she answered no.

H: - Okay, sweets then.

L: - Great, today after school.  Do not be late.

Then we head to the gym.  The physical education class was a test of self-control for us.  After all, it is not easy for super strong and fast beings to contain their talents when competitiveness and rivalry emanate from the environment.  I met Ethan at the exit of the locker room and we went together to the court.

I think the little time I spent at this school when I left Malivore made it easy for me to return, Ethan was a very nice guy and was very receptive to me and to those he judged my friends.

E: - What's up?

H: - Hi.

E: - How are you doing at school?

H: - Really?

E: - Okay, that's not what I really want to know.

H: - Come on, go, ask.

E: - Will you be at the fair?

H: - Inevitably yes.

E: - Wow, is it that bad to fit in with the rabble?

H: - Stop that, you know I don't care about those things.  - Said laughing and punching his arm.

E: - Yeah, I know.  Your friends ...

H: - Give them a break, it hasn't been an easy change.

E: - I can imagine.

When we got to the court, everyone was already there, including Landon.  The coach divided the class into two teams, so we could play the match and went out.  I was on a team with Lizzie;  Ethan;  Landon;  Raf and another girl from school that I didn't bother to meet.  On the other team, Josie;  MG;  Jed;  Kaleb;  Maya and another boy who also didn't know who he was.  I tried to make eye contact with Landon, but he was avoiding me.  I decided to leave this to solve at home, so the game started.  We were doing well, so far, none of us had used the powers, it was even fun, until Landon and Ethan tried to grab a ball at the same time and got hit.  It shouldn't have been anything, but it was.  When they got up, Landon went after Ethan and gave him a push.
