This Never Happened Before

'Mr. Hyun!' My boss called me up when he saw me come into his office. I smiled at him.

'Good morning, sir,' I replied and he motioned me to sit down. I did so and he laid out the plans for my Mongolia trip.

'Okay, I won't deal with the nitbits, because I know you will be the one who will get those. But, here's what I want you to do,' he said. 'You'll follow her and get a scoop about her and the co-actor she is starring with.'

'Are there new rumors?' I asked.

'Well there are, but more on the inside. Why, Mr. Hyun? Do you know anything?' he asked.

I shook my head. I previously worked with her co-actor, Mr. Kim Bidam, while being assigned to him in Japan. What I knew of him was he was very secretive about his personal life too. He has a girlfriend and that was not Yejin, at all. They had a history, and Yejin had told me that, and it was actually why I got to know her, through that incident in the parking lot.

'No, sir. I think Mr. Kim is in a relationship,' I said, which actually was music to his ears.

'Bravo! That's what I want when you report to me regarding Ms. Son. Not just the pictures that you submit to me, although I must say they really look great,' he said. I smiled, and then after he gave me the tickets to Mongolia and the PRESS ID so I could gain entry, I left his office. My trip to Mongolia will be in a week's time, following Yejin's departure.

'Hi,' a sweet voice greeted me as I placed a call on her. She was to leave today for Ulaanbaatar, and as we had planned after that night at the beach, we didn't see each other physically for security purposes.

I never knew how much I missed her until I heard her sweet voice. I smiled and that smile didn't go unnoticed by Dong Gun. He looked at me and I stood up to stay outside so I could talk to Yejin in peace.

'Hi,' I said when I got out. 'I miss you.'

'Me too.'

'What time is your flight?' I asked.

'3pm,' she answered. 'I'm at the lounge now, waiting for boarding.'

'And is Mr. Kim there?'

'Yes he is. It's funny,' she said. I asked her why.

'It's funny because a lot of reporters were asking if we have a relationship,' she continued. 'I had to politely beg them off, because I don't know how to answer it.'

'Why don't you know how to?'

'I can't explain it on the phone, babe,' she said. My eyes widened when she just called me that.

'Babe? I like the sound of that,' I said and smiled, hoping that she would be able to know that I was.

'Really? Wow, I'm glad you liked it,' she replied. Then I overheard that they were being called to board already. 'Babe, I need to go. I'll see you in two weeks' time?'

'We'll see,' I replied, not really giving out an answer but to leave her hanging.

'What? she asked.

'I said I'll see you. I'll miss you. I love you,' came my reply. I wanted to surprise her when I turned up in Mongolia.

Oh, I can't wait for the week to pass so it will happen.

We survived off the week with me sorting out all the things that I got from my recent stay in Japan. I have befriended Mr. Kim, and I realized how much of a playboy he was when one night we went to a bar in Ginza with a few other friends and we saw him there getting cozy with someone. I had to turn a blind eye, and if he was able to do that to his girlfriend, how much more to Yejin whom, as she put it, he wanted to come with him.
