Yeji was much more determined now to find out what had happened in the past. What happened on the day of the fire? And what role does her father play in it.
"Yeji..."
"YEJI!"
Jinyoung brought Yeji back from her daydreaming and sighed.
"You've been dreaming the whole time, is my class this boring?" he pouted and buried his face in his hands while he pretended to be sobbing to make it seem like it hurted him deeply.
"No, please don't cry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to concentrate now," she promised him.
Jinyoung, however, did not seem particularly convinced "You are saying this for the third time already. Let's just end it for today. Instead, want to tell me what is going on"
"No. It's okay," she said and Jinyoung was about to pack his things when she felt the need to ask him a question.
"What do you think of my dad?"
"Your dad?" Jinyoung looked at her with a raised eyebrow and thought of an answer "He's a good man. He's good with his employees. He's funny and very good-looking for his age. I envy him a lot."
"Of course, you do," Yeji sighed and Jinyoung was slightly confused what that was supposed to mean.
She accompanied him to the front door, where she had said goodbye to him.
She got out her cell phone and wrote to Chaeryoung.
Yeji
Can you send me the application from Kwang Yeri?Yeji made his way to Kwang Yeri's apartment the next day.
When she rang the doorbell, Kwang Yeri luckily opened the door immediately.
The woman looked a bit younger than what Yeji had thought.
She seemed to have expected someone else as she slowly switched her bright face into a confused one."Is there any way I can help you," she asked Yeji and leaned against her door frame.
Yeji suddenly took out a whole handful of bills and held them in front of her face while bowing.
"I'm the daughter of your former boss Hwang Yunho and I am here for an answer to what exactly happened on the day of the fire 12 years ago," she demanded the woman.
"Sorry, but I'm not going to let myself drawn into it again. Please leave me alone"
She was about slam the door shut, but Yeji stuck her foot between the gap and yanked the door open.
Yeji ran into her apartment and then took out all her savings and put them on the table.
Yeji got on her knees "I'm begging you! Please..."
When Kwang Yeri heard the tremor in her voice, she felt pity for the young girl.
She leaned down to Yeji and raised her head so that she looked into her eyes.
"Your rich people really think you can buy anything ... get up," she helped Yeji up and then looked at her intensely, which made Yeji feel a little uncomfortable.
"You've became really pretty. Sit down. I'll make you some tea," she noted and left the living room to make the two of them a tea.
"So, tell me why do you care about what happens after all these years" she asked Yeji and took a few sips from the tea.
"I found my brother Hyunjin again and visited our mother with him. I never knew that I had other siblings and that my mother that I'm currently living with is not my birth mother. My whole life they made me believe that I was the only child of Hwang Yunho and Hwang Jihyo. However, Hyunjin and I have lost our memories and don't know exactly what happened and why we were separated from each other. My father seems to try so hard to hide the truth. But we are sure that more happened on the day of the fire back then, "she tells her.
"You're right, it all has to do with the fire back then. I don't know who started the fire, but I have a few things that are a bit suspicious. But if I tell you, you might end up heartbroken. Are you sure you're going to handle what I'm going to tell you next? "
Yeji took a deep breath and then nodded at her question.
"So, you must know, there was another house maid back then. Her name was Lee Sunhee. She and your father were having an affair. The woman seemed to really hate your mother, too. She never missed the chance to talk badly about your mother. The day before the fire, when I wanted to say goodbye to your father, I heard the two of them talking about finally being able to be together soon without any worries. Then the fire happened. Lee Sunhee and your father left the house with you while your little brother and your mother were inside. I called the fire department, and they were luckily able to get them out in time. In the Hospital I got the message that I should just pass Hyunjin on to someone else. Your father blackmailed me that nobody should find out about it or I would get it worse than your Mother Ms. Kim. After that, the only thing I know is that your father moved to Jeonju with you and that women."
Yeji tried to push back the tears.
So, her father and his affair at the time were the villains of the whole story...
But who was that woman? She doesn't remember her. Did something happen to her.
"Do you happen to know where this Lee Sunhee is" Yeji asked, trying her best not burst into tears with every word.
"Oh, your father and this woman are no longer together???" the woman looked at Yeji in amazement.
"No, in 2008 he married my new mother Hwang Jihyo," Yeji tells her.
Kwang Yeri's gaze wandered from Yeji's face to her hands, which she clung to her knees.
"I think it's the best if you go now. Take the money with you" she told Yeji and got up leaving the living room.
A/N: I apologize for keeping you waiting with the chapters, but I've been in a bad state of health since the end of November, so I didn't even get around to do it. I'm really sorry but I try to post mor regularly from now on. Step by step.
