"Who in the name of God is Harold Jenkins?"
Everyone looks to Five who downs the rest of the coffee before flinging the cup behind him, halfway across the room.
"I don't know...yet. But I do know that he's responsible for the apocalypse. So we have to find him. And we have to do it now." Five looked determined and hopeful. The most hopeful she's ever seen him. He must really believe in this lead.
"How's he connected to what's going to happen?" Luther asks and Five shrugs.
"I don't know."
"Wait, so you just know his name? That's it?" Diego steps forward, pushing himself in between Ashlinn and Allison.
"That's enough." Five attempts to convince him.
"There's probably dozens of Harold Jenkinses in the city."
"Well, we better start looking then."
"And how are we going to know which Harold Jenkins is our 'end of the world' Harold Jenkins? What are you going to do? Kill 'em all?" Ashlinn asks as she crosses her arms and Five just rolls his eyes at her.
"Trust me, we'll know." Five says as if that was supposed to comfort her in any way.
"I'm sorry. Am I the only one that's sceptical here?" Allison steps forward and Ashlinn notices how Five shifts uncomfortably. "I mean, how do you know all of this about what's his name?"
"Harold Jenkins." He clarifies. "You know those lunatics in masks who attacked the house?"
"Oh yeah, I think I remember those guys?" Klaus replies sarcastically.
"Yeah, the ones who attacked us while you were getting drunk." Diego bites.
"Hm, the same ones that shot me? Yeah, I think I remember them." Ashlinn fake thinks but Five ignores their snarky behaviour.
"Yeah. Them. They were sent by the Temps Commission to stop me from coming back and preventing the end of life on Earth." Five explains and Ashlinn sighs.
"The Temps what?"
Five goes on to explain everything leading up to why he believes Harold Jenkins is responsible for the apocalypse. Ashlinn knew that she was going to have to help Five with all of this even though the only thing she wanted to do right now was sleep. Just a few more days and everything should be over. When Five was finished, everyone remained silent for a moment before they all started talking over each other and asking questions.
Ashlinn watched as Five clutched his side as everyone else continued to talk over one another. She walked over to him and asked if he was alright, but he dismissed her with a wave of his hand before speaking up about something that someone had said.
"You know what else is insane? I look like a thirteen-year-old boy! Klaus talks to the dead and Luther thinks he's fooling everyone with that overcoat. Then we got Professor X over here. Everything about us is insane. It always has been." Five says with annoyance at first. Ashlinn looked at him with slight offence. Professor X? Seriously.
"He's got a point there," Klaus says as he lays down on the chair beside them. Ashlinn looks at him worriedly.
"We didn't choose this life. We're just living it. For the next three days anyway."
"Inspiring. Truly." Ashlinn comments and Five shakes his head.
"The last time we tried to stop it, we all died. Why's this time any different? Why shouldn't I go home to my daughter?" Allison argues and Ashlinn frowns. She would've liked the chance to meet Claire.
