I had a dream the other night. About how we only get one life. Woke up right after 2, stayed awake and stared at you, so I wouldn't lose my mind. I had a week that came from he-
SLAM.
Ugh, school. Monday. Great. I told myself as I unwrapped myself from my comforter. I shivered from the cold air that glided across my legs. Why did I wear shorts to bed last night?! I chastised myself silently as I reached for my phone. 6 am. Yay. I walked to my closet to the right of my bed, and night stand, to pick out what I was going to wear. I tapped a few buttons, and my closet started to revolve around itself until it picked an outfit for me.
A white v-neck that said "Be-You-Tiful", blue boot cut jeans with a brown leather belt, brown ankle boots, a blue scarf, a black leather jacket, and black sunglasses.
Sunglasses? Its the beginning of February. Its freaking 20-something degrees outside!
I unhooked everything my closet chose for me, except the sunglasses, and walked towards my bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth, and walked downstairs to hear complete silence.
Where are mom and dad?
I looked around to see a box of cereal, milk, and a bowl with a spoon on the dining table. Next to the bowl, was a note. I picked it up and it read,
Hey sweetie! Dad and I had to work an extra early shift this morning! I left some money in the top left drawer in your dresser for you. We'll be doing a late shift too, so make sure you get some dinner. Okay, lots of love!
~Momma Bear
Okay...
I quickly ate the cereal, put the bowl in the dishwasher, put the cereal back in the pantry and went back upstairs. I then headed towards my dresser.
Top left drawer.
I opened the top left drawer and say that there laid a one hundred dollar bill. I picked it up, and headed downstairs once again. I headed for the closet near the garage door, and grabbed my book bag. I slipped the one hundred dollar note in my wristlet, and placed the wristlet back in my backpack. I looked at the time on the wall.
6:30
I shoved my backpack back into the closet and headed upstairs for the second time. I headed towards my bathroom. I locked the door behind me, and took a quick shower. I stepped out with a towel wrapped around my body and changed into my clothes I had brought in the bathroom earlier. I flat-ironed my hair, and put a minimal amount of makeup on. I checked the time again.
7:00 am
Not bad for a Monday. Still have half an hour!
I decided to go downstairs and head across the street to see Leo, my friend. He's pretty funny, and he's a little shrimp dude. Don't tell him I said that!
I grabbed my backpack, and headed across the street. I went up to their porch, and rang the doorbell.
"Hey Jaz!" Leo greeted me at the door.
"Hey Leo! You ready to go?" I greeted him back with a question.
"Yeah, lemme just tell my mom that we're heading out," he said before he turned around, peering inside his house. He yelled, "Mom! We're leaving!" He grabbed his backpack as we heard Tasha, his mom yell back, "Okay! Be careful you guys! Call me if you need anything!"
Oh Tasha... Always looking out for us. You see, Tasha was like a second mother to me. My parents were usually busy with work and things like that, so since she was right across the street, whenever my parents were out of town, or I'm sick or something, she'd always take care of me. I was surprised my mom even left that note this morning. My thoughts were interrupted when Leo called my name.
