"Oh, thank heavens! You all made it home safe and sound and-" We heard as we entered through the door. It was followed by a raspberry and I was this close to punching the living pixels out of Eddy. Without another word, Mr. Davenport walked over to Eddy and swiped the bottom of the screen and Eddy disappeared. Thank the lords. Adam, Bree and Chase slouched on the couch as Leo and I stayed at the door with Tasha.
"I don't know what you kids were thinking, pulling a stunt like that. You could have seriously hurt yourselves." Davenport said, walking to the other side of the couch.
"Yeah, but you gotta admit," Adam started in a normal voice, but continued in his robot accent, "my robot accent was dead on." He finished with a wide grin and robot arms. I rolled my arms.
"Can we please take him back to the recycling center?" Chase begged and I laughed along with Bree.
"And Leo and Jaz, why didn't you tell us that Adam, Bree and Chase were still here?" Tasha asked us, but before Leo could say anything, I stopped him.
"Because we were trying to protect them. If we told you, you would've just sent them back to the facility." I glared over to Davenport and crossed my arms across my chest before Leo continued,
"And we still are. That's right," Leo was now ten inches away from Davenport's face, "You wanna send them away?" He pointed to the three who were still sitting on the couch. I walked forward to join Leo,
"You have to get through us first," I finished for Leo with a smirk on my face.
"Its go time, little man." Davenport looked unfazed and then I knew our plan wasn't working, "Its not about the size of the dog in the fight. Its about the size of the fight in the dog. There's a lotta fight in this doggie." Leo shook his head and started circling around Davenport, holding two fists up, jumping up and down, "Come on! Uh-huh!" Clearly this wasn't working because I looked to Davenport who was looking at Tasha who had her hand covering the smile and laughter she had been holding back. Leo continued to jump, "Yeah!"
"Leo!" Davenport yelled over him, "Calm down," He grasped onto Leo's shirt, "They're not going anywhere."
Excuse me?!
"Oh don't you- wait what?!" I yelled in his face, but then I realized what he had said.
"Watching you guys risk your life for each other made me realize something," Davenport looked to the three, "Maybe I've been focusing too much on training the super human side of you and I forgot all about the human part." I scoffed at his remark.
"Clearly." I muttered underneath my breath. I knew Chase could hear it because he had a small smile on his face.
"Awwwww," I heard Adam coo at Davenport with a smile, but quickly looked at us without a smile, "I don't get it." Poor Adam. Clueless about everything. I sighed at his dumbness but hugged him anyway. He was shocked. but hugged back, "Thanks, Jaz!" He had a cute smile on his face and I smiled back,
"I'm here for ya, Adam."
"You're teenagers," Davenport walked up to Adam who was sitting back on the couch with Bree and Chase. I had sat down beside Adam and Chase, "and bionic or not, you deserve to experience teenager things. Like school and classes and cell phones."
"Yes!" Bree stood up, "A cell phone! I'm livin' the dream! Woo!" I stood up with Bree and did a little dance with her as we both giggled, but Davenport ruined our fun. He shook his head,
"Yeah, you're not getting a cell phone." Bree and I sat down as Davenport walked towards Tasha who was sitting on the ledge of the couch, "But what I can give you is another chance. Maybe there's a way that you can live here, go to school and go on missions." Davenport concluded and we all stood up.
"Are you serious?" Chase asked with a gentle smile playing at his lips.
"So they can stay?" Leo asked Davenport.
"On one condition," Great, "No one can ever find out about your abilities. And you have to control your emotions so you don't glitch."
"Done." Chase started.
"Absolutely." Bree continued.
"Okay." Adam finished.
"All right then. Welcome home!"
"Whoo hoo, yeah! We're staying!" I heard Adam cheer but out of nowhere, Adam started to glitch I guess and plasma grenades started shooting out of hands randomly, hitting the walls. I was too amazed to duck and cover, so Chase pulled me down next to him. I couldn't even begin to fathom how we were so close to each other. I was literally two inches away from his face when a smirk was on his face.
"Hi." His breath tickled my face.
"Hi." I responded back, as he gently laid my head against his chest, hugging him.
"Whoops." I heard Adam say.
"He has plasma grenades?" Leo asked Davenport. I could hear excitement dripping through his words, "My life just got a whole lot better." Leo concluded as everyone started to get up from the floor. I tried to get up, but Chase's hand was still resting on my head, restricting me.
"Chase?" I whispered. He looked to me, "Can I get up?" I asked, referring to the position we were in. He shook his head.
"Nope. I think I'm gonna keep you right here." He had a cheesy grin plastered on his face.
"Okay, whatever." I laid my head back on Chase's chest and was drifting off into a sleep until my butt started to vibrate. My butt? Oh yeah, my phone. I laughed at my perverted mind and slipped my hand in my back pocket. 'Call from Dad. Accept or Decline?' my phone screen read. Dad. Shit. It was way past curfew. I was going to get a severe beating once I got home.
