"Attention, students! The pep rally is starting. Go, dingoes!" Principal Perry said over the intercom. I was standing next to Leo, as he was signing a basketball for a girl when I heard the cheerleaders start their cheer.
"Let's get fired up. Go! Fight! Win!" I couldn't watch the rest since Leo said,
"Here ya go, baby," He tossed the basketball back to the girl as she dramatically wiped her forehead, and pranced away. Soon, Adam and Bree walked in, which changed the subject from "Why would girls want you to sign their basketball?" to "You guys rock! Ever since gym class, everyone wants to be my friend. And there's been a certain gentleness to my wedgies." He said, looking up at Adam about the gentleness of his wedgies.
"It's the least we could do. You gave us our first taste of freedom." Bree commented.
"Yeah, and our first taste of Salisbury steak. Uh, yum." Adam said, pulling out a piece of Salisbury steak.
Where did he get that?
"Where were you?" I asked Chase as soon as I saw him walking into the gym. He walked closer to me, "Computer lab, taking med school courses. Guess who just became a chiropractor in the Philippines?" He asked me ending with that goofy smile of his that once again, made me melt.
"Hmm... Let's see," I said, playing along with Chase, "Who would have super intelligence, along with a bunch of crazy other bionics?" He laughed with me. Soon, our mascot, Dewey Dingo came up to Adam and started to pet him.
"Aw, look. The doggy likes me." At first, it was cute, but then, Adam quickly got fed up, "Okay, doggy, that's enough. Hey, I said that's enough!" Now the dingo was fighting for the steak in Adam's hand, but he refused to give it up. He was practically dragging Dewey across the gym floor.
"No! It's my Salisbury steak! Grr! Grr!" Suddenly, he tossed Dewey off him, looked at Dewey, and his eyes suddenly turned red.
Why are Adam's eyes turning red?
"Why are Adam's eyes turning red?" Leo asked Chase, reading my mind. Bree was talking to the guy that she made eat a basketball, earlier.
"Oh, no! His heat vision!"
"His what?!" Leo and I screamed in unison.
"It's a glitch. Whenever he gets too upset his heat vision acts up!" Chase exclaimed back. Suddenly, lasers were shot out of Adam's eyes straight towards the dingo. The dingo ran across the gym, only to crash into the cheerleaders. They were building a pyramid and chanting the school cheer.
"We're dingoes, we're here, there's nothing--" They were stopped when Dewey ran into them, making the base crash, flinging a girl into the air. I was waiting for the impact, but Bree supersped to the rescue,
"Watch out! I got her! I got her!" She held her arms out, ready to catch the girl,
And there's the impact.
"Oh. Oops. Overshot it. But don't worry, I know a chiropractor in the Philippines." She told the girl who was now groaning in pain.
Suddenly, we heard the fire alarm go off, and we had then known that Adam shot his lasers at Dewey, and the dingo's head was on fire. Everything was in chaos. People were running towards the exit, until Chase interrupted,
"People, people." He said, trying to calm our fellow classmates down, "Statistics show that if we don't panic, at least 70% of us will make it out alive." But, he failed miserably.
Suddenly everyone was gone, except for a jock who was helping Dewey up, a few cheerleaders helping the flyer, back onto her feet, and us, standing in straight line, looking at Davenport and Tasha with wide smiles.
