"Well, we better get ready for school." Leo told the three as he looked at me. I nodded as I grabbed my bag. We had been in the lab for about 20 minutes, before we had to rush to school.
"Ooh! I have always dreamed about going to school! Passing notes, going to prom, breaking into choreographed dance numbers after math class." Bree said excitedly as she broke into a dance routine with jazz hands.
"Bree, hate to burst your bubble," I started with a corny smile, "But, that is not how school works. Trust me." I said serious at the end.
"Yeah," Leo agreed as he pointed to me.
"All we do is eat, sleep, and train for missions. We're like human lab rats." Chase informed as he walked towards us.
"Come on, it can't be that bad." I countered.
Chase and Bree turned to Adam, who was on a giant hamster wheel.
"So, you've never left this room?" They shook their heads, "That explains the haircuts."
I jabbed Leo in the rib and gave him a glare that said, "Be nice!"
"Naw! I bet school's fun! You know, except for books, classes, and learning stuff." Adam said. He doesn't seem to be bright.
"Well, it's not fun when you're the smart kid." Leo and I said in unison.
"Well, down here, smart is considered superior." Chase gloated."No, it's not." Bree and Adam said in unison.
"Hey, you guys should come to school with us! You could be out bionic bodyguards!" Leo suggested as he looked at me for approval. I gave a small shrug, as his eyes directed back to the three "lab rats".
"Okay!" Chase said in a high squeaky voice.
"I'm in!" Bree agreed.
"Let's go!" Adam directed towards the metal doors.
"Not on my watch, laser brains!" The metal doors then closed automatically.
What was that?!
"Aw, shoot. We forgot about Davenport's creepy computer."
Creepy computer?
I looked to the wall, and saw a white screen with an obnoxious looking emoticon.
Okay... That's creepy all right.
"I thought it was just in the living room!" Leo exclaimed, pointing at the emoticon.
"Nope! I'm everywhere." The emoticon responded back with a smug look on its pixels, or whatever you call it.
"In my shower?!"
"Yep. And by the way, nothing needs to be that clean, sport-o." We all shuddered at the thought.
Ewwww.
"Okay, we need to shut that thing off." Leo demanded.
"Never gonna happen, okay? Eddy is an incredibly complex and sophisticated piece of machinery. It would take years before-" Chase explained as Adam opened up a box underneath the screen.
"Ohhh-" Eddy faded away as Adam yanked on its wires.
"Ah! Sweet! I barely got electrocuted! Okay, come on." He said directing everyone to the metal doors.
"If we're gonna go to school, we should shower first, because two of us really stink." Bree pointed out to the boys. All three step in their "biologically regulated atmospheric chambers". Leo pressed a few buttons as the three put on a pair of goggles. Soon, soap was poured on them, and a few seconds later, they're hair was really spiky and weird looking. The chambers started to glow blue, going up and down, until all three were properly dressed. One by one, they all came out.
"You gave me your underwear by mistake." Adam told Bree.
Okay, that's gross.
"Gross!" Bree exclaimed, taking the words right out of my mouth.
"What are you complaining about? I got the bra." Chase said, plucking the bra strap making me giggle. He sent glares my way, as I sheepishly smiled. He face lightened up as he stepped back into the chamber. Once again, the glass flashed blue, and they all stepped out in the appropriate clothes.
Since it was their first day, they didn't have backpacks, so Leo and I grabbed our bags, and headed to school with Adam, Bree, and Chase following us.
