I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I flinch.
"You okay?" Charli asking laughing.
"Y-Yeah." I say.
"You've been off the edge lately." Charli says.
"I just got some issues at home." I say.
"You can talk to me about anything." She says stopping me from walking.
"Can I crash at your house?" I ask.
"Once you tell me why." She says.
"Please don't do this." I say as everyone looks at us.
"The freak has a crush on D'Amelio." Chase says pushing me.
Charli's View
Y/n's different mentally and physically, but that doesn't mean she's a freak.
"Chase—" I say.
Chase pushes Y/n against a locker and puts his hand on her throat.
"She's mine." Chase says.
I push him away and grab Y/n's hand.
"I'll get you next time." Chase says as we walk away.
I lead Y/n down the hallway and we turn the corner.
"Can you tell me how?" I ask.
Y/n's View
"My parents are just arguing a lot and the fights are physical..." I say.
"I just feel like I'm not enough for them to try and fix things." I say.
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough
"I don't mean anything to them anymore, I'm just an autistic teen living under their roof." I say.
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
"Y/n, do you think you're more than that?" Charli asks.
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
"I don't know." I say.
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know
"Y/n, I love you and I don't want you to ever forget that." Charli says.
You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
I smile and she hugs me.
