There's a knock on the door and I open it.

"Hey, Dix." Y/n says as I hug her.

"I haven't seen you in forever." I say as she kisses my forehead.

"Hey, I gotta get this dinero (money)." Y/n says.

I laugh and she smiles.

Y/n comes from a Spanish speaking family and people often think she just learned Spanish in high school. Y/n learned Spanish before she learned English, but she's really good at speaking both languages.

"So, are you doing? You some money or anything?" Y/n asks.

"No." I say.

"Keep this between me and you." She whispers putting a $100 bill in my pocket.

I smile and she kisses my cheek.

People think I sleep with Y/n for money because Y/n always gives me money. I never ask for it but she says she just wants to make sure I'm okay.

"Grace?" Y/n calls walking in the kitchen.

I hear Charli gasp and then laughter. I smile and go in the kitchen. I see Y/n on the floor and Charli laying on top of her.

"No puedo respirar (I can't breathe)." Y/n whines loudly.

I help Charli stand up and Y/n gets up.

"Dios mío (oh my)." Y/n says.

We laugh and she smiles.

I've had feelings for Y/n for as long as I can remember and we started dating when she visited last year. I liked her way before other people did.

This was before she had her "glow-up." Before the surgeries, before the braces, before the glasses, before she told everyone she lived with a Spanish speaking family — before all of that.
