I locked my door and stripped down to bare skin and rushed to the bathroom to shower yet again and didn't get out for an hour. Her sense of smell maybe good, but to a werewolf with a fresh blood kill, we are amazing. Some of us even drink blood laced wines and other drinks to enhance our abilities. I knew from the six sense that some wolves have, she was refusing to feed and that would definitely explain the edginess. Sighing as the warm water ran out, I jumped out and grabbed the towel and dried off. I wrapped the towel around my waist and was getting ready to shave, when the door was knocked on. I growled and hurried to answer it. I swung it open ready to rip their head off and stopped in mid word. Jack stood there in his dark blue jeans and his button down shirt with the top two buttons untouched. His leather jacket was hugged close to his shoulders and formed to his chest nicely. He looked like he was ready to just collapse.
"Wha.....What are you doing here, Jack?" I stammered through.
"I was worried. I didn't mean for what happened last night to happen. She showed up and was upset and the next thing I knew, we were in my room. I heard the door and then you were there and I panicked. I'm so sorry Matt. I wanted to let you know that before you left I had made plans for tonight. That's if you still want to go? With me, I mean."
I looked at his face as it flushed. There was another thing that I didn't notice and wouldn't have if the blood wasn't making things too intense. He smelled like pack. The scent isn't hard to miss when you're a wolf and you're use to it. My eyes changed to their green just as his changed to storm silver. I growled and struck out with my palm hitting him with a condensed form of air.
"What pack are you from, Jack? I want to know. For one, you're on my territory and for two, you're lucky I haven't killed you!"
"Argh, I'm not part of any pack. I'm an Omega. A lone wolf. I'm the last of my birth pack. I swear!!!" he struggled to say as I was crushing his windpipe.
I let my fangs slide into place and roared out my command for him to stop struggling. Immediately, he froze, the left side of his neck exposed. I was tempted to just kill him and call it good. But instead the Alpha and the love that I had took over and I sank them in his neck and left the Alpha trance on his blood. No one would mess with him or try and kill him. They would smell me on his blood. I heard him sigh and the bond took hold and I caught his eyes as I pulled away. They had turned to a chrome green. I knew that mine would be close to that color if not, they would be slightly more shiny than that deep green. I sighed and walked out.
"Stay here or I will kill you." I mumbled as I slammed the door.
I walked down the halls and came to Rick's office. I walked right in and didn't even knock. I was way to pumped to care. He looked up at me as I paced in front of him,
"Since when was it your job to find a different pack to start recruiting from?" I spat out.
"Uh, what are you talking about, Matt? I'm not even sure what is going on. Are you talking about Jack? He's a wolf? But I would have smelled it on him." he stumbled out, dazed and slightly confused.
"Not if he's an Omega. The last of his pack, actually. I'm the only one here that can tell that he's wolf. And, um, I marked him as mine."
"You what?!" Rick shouted.
"I wasn't planning on it. It just happened and now I need to figure out what I'm going to do. Plus, now that I'm looking at it, I really need to put clothes on."
"That might be a good thing. Also, I want to talk to you about the blood moon that's coming up. You know that means pack challenges and you need to train again."
"Ugh. That's right, I completely forgot about it. Yeah, we'll have to plan on places and times for challengers."
"Yeah. Um, about the challenges, I'm challenging you this year, Matt. I think that you're too young for this. I've supported you for along time and I can't do it anymore. Pretending to be the Alpha and not really being the leader is hard enough."
I stood there, dumbfounded. What was my best friend and adviser and adopted father talking about? I felt rage surge through me. I was shaking so bad from not phasing right there and killing him where he stood. I watched as he realized what was going through my head as his eyes shifted to their unsettling gold. I growled low and heavy with bass. I laughed on the inside as the windows bowed out. I let power roll off me and saw his eyes change back to their dull grey and he dropped to his knees with his neck exposed. I spun around and as I neared the window I leaped through it and was on all fours before I even touched the ground. I sped off to the clearing to meet Alice and was in the middle of the forest when I heard other foot falls hitting the ground.
