The first thing that I noticed was that there was a huge, naked chest pressed against me and it was breathing. I jumped out of the bed and nearly screamed when the man in the bed grabbed me and pulled me back against him and wrapped his branch like arms around me, making it impossible for anyone to break free. Anyone human. I flexed a little and felt him lose his grip. I grinned and flexed a little more. I finally broke free and got out and dressed and ran for the door, but not before I left a note explaining that I needed to get back and that I would scratch at the door later. Pun fully intended. I phased and took off at full speed. I cleared the fence and shifted back, changed and was back inside before anyone was up. I let my senses race and my element, lightning, the one that I was closest to, reach out and tell me what was going on. I figured out from everyone's emotions and reactions that it was adoption day. This was not something that I looked forward to. I was turning eighteen here before too terribly long. I knew that if I was to be adopted it would last too long. So I never tried. But I really wanted to see what Jack was going to say about us now that I had spent the night.

I growled and made a couple of freshman jump. I mumbled my apologies and continued down the hallway. I wanted to find Alice and explain that I was sorry for the headmaster treating her badly. I partly shifted my senses to find her. Her scent was imprinted into my memory bank. I walked by the infirmary and caught her scent, along with other witches. Witches were one of the more powerfully branches of the fae and they could get dangerous. I heard snips of their talking and then there was a crash. I kicked the door in as Alice flung her hands out and one girl went out the window and several others were flung across the room. I rushed over to stop her and she collapsed into my arms. I just sat like that and looked around the room and tried to understand what the hell just happened. I was found like that by Headmaster Charn. He was the werewolf headmaster. He was followed in by Headmaster Pennylicker, er, Headmaster Pennslocker.

I jumped when Rick put his hand on me and asked what happened. I tried to explain that it was Alice, But when i looked down she was gone. Pennslocker went after me, saying that I was the one who took her, since I was the only one to see her before she left, and one look from me, with eyes glowing, had him backing up and trying to run from me. I was growling and possibly snarling when Headmaster Charn slapped me back into my human self. I mumbled thanks and walked out. Pennylicker was yelling for me to get back here and explain where she went and I just kept going. I slammed my door and face planted into my mattress.

"UGH!!!"

Why am I the one who is asked if I was involved? All I did was stop her from getting hurt. All I wanted was to get to work, but it was going to be six hours before that. I walked over to my desk and hopped on to my emails. No emails concerning me having to be here today. I grabbed my leather bag and headed for the clearing that was my training area. I got there about 10 am. I looked around. There were cracks in the ground from using earth. Scorch marks from lightning and fire. And then there was mud holes from water. The worst was the trees on the ground from the gale force winds I was creating. Sometimes, using my abilities got scary and then while I was scared, they would get out of hand. I strolled to the middle and dropped the small sack on the ground. I sat cross legged beside it and reached in. The leather pouch was a container for the colored marbles that I used to harness the elements safely. The color of the marble determined the element I was to call on. Headmaster Charn came up with this. Right after I set the dorms on fire. I pulled out a black marble. Oh god. This is one I was fearing of getting. I had to learn to do this. This particular marble meant that I needed to summon all of them and maintain control for as long as I could. I started with air. A compressed ball formed in front of me and then I summoned water. I covered the ball of air. Next was earth and then fire. They followed the previous elements. The last two were the fun ones. Lightning struck the ball from the sky, lighting up the entire clearing. Next was spirit. This was one that I hadn't gotten control of yet. But, I tried to get it to bend to my will. I watched as the other elements responded as spirit joined. fire burned brighter and earth increased its density. Lightning arched and water swirled faster. I could feel air pressing at every corner of the orb. I smiled as I had finally gotten ahold of this gift, this malady that some would say was a curse. I love having it. But the one thing that I was not looking forward to was choosing one of the elements to be mine. I want to keep all of them, but it's the rules and I have to obey. At this, the elements burst from the orb and struck out at everything and anything. I hit the ground and a wall of fire and lightning soared towards me. I looked around at the damage and determined that this session was over and that I didn't need to blow the clearing sky high. I left the clearing with more scars and burns than when I had arrived. This was going to take forever to do, especially if it came to this over and over again.
