The next morning, I walked through the courtyard, where everyone was crowded into their little cliques. I hadn't seen Mariah yet, so that was a good sign. The scent of blood caught my attention. It wasn't fresh and someone was trying to cover it with Axe. I had a stronger sense of smell than other vampires simply because of the blood magic that ran in my veins. I spun on my heel and walked throughout the school, curious as to who had killed a human. It didn't resignate on any of the other wolves, they were only allowed to hunt animals.

I hurried through towards the boys' dormitories of the wolves' wing. It lead me straight to Tommy Jergens and Matthew's room. I raised a brow and knocked on the door. The door swung open and I jumped back at the sight of Matthew, the smell oozing off of him like a broken water pipe or something. "How did you find me?" he asked, sounding annoyed. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Aside from the fact that your name is on the door, I followed the smell of blood. Human blood for the matter," I replied, snarkly. His eyes widened and he stepped back in surprise.

"How can you tell?" I shrugged my shoulders, tugging my black hood up over my head.

"Because my sense of smell is better than any vampire...or werewolf for that matter." He smirked and walked by me, closing his door.

"I'd like to test that."

"Well, I found you just by the scent of that human's blood that is still on your skin." He turned around and threw his arms into the air.

"Anyone can decipher that." I rolled my eyes and he started to walk away. A pulsating sensation coursed through my veins. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as visions overtook my sight. I could see a blonde woman and then in the blink of an eye, she's screaming as she's being ripped apart by...Matthew? I gasped for air, bracing myself against the wall.

"She was blonde...pretty from the looks of it." He stopped in his tracks and turned around to face me. "You ripped her limb from limb and then some, didn't you? You did it out of sheer jealously. You should learn to control your temper." He turned around as I started to walk his way. He grabbed my arm, the grip strong enough to break a mortal's arm.

"Did you follow me?" I shook my head and jerked my arm from his grip.

"I told you, my scent is better than yours. It makes me have visions...and I saw you kill that poor woman." He blinked his eyes, looking guilty. I walked away from him, leaving him there. I headed towards the library and was stopped by the librarian, Mrs. Chremshaw. She kicked me out before I could even reach the restricted section. I turned around and jumped at the sight of Matthew, standing there with his arms crossed over his chest. "Are you stalking me now or something? I'm not going to tell people that you're a murderer."

"I didn't mean too." I glared at him, walking away.

"That may be, but that doesn't change a damn thing as far as I'm concerned." He sighed heavily, and I could sense his irritation.

"What the hell is your problem, Alice?!" he shouted, his voice echoing off of the walls. I tensed up, not use to anyone but Pennylicker yelling at me like that. I turned around, my fangs attempting to protrude from under my lips. My eyes were turning their brightest blue, I could tell from the way Matthew backed away from me. I took slow steady steps towards him, my anger building in my chest.

"Listen here you prat, I already told you that I wasn't going to say shit about what happened last night, and yet you seem to be so sure that I am going to tell. What could I possibly gain from telling everyone that you're a killer? Who would even believe me?" He looked down, clearly ashamed. "I have my own things to worry about anyways. Now will you leave me alone?"

"Can I be of some assistance?" he asked, looking up at me with sad eyes. I rolled off, ready to storm off when an idea dawned on me.

"Meet me at the clearing at the stroke of midnight. We'll see if you can help me." I turned, speeding through the halls, practically invisible, but then again I was always to use to that.
