I tailed Matthew as he ran through the woods. Anger was coursing through my veins, and to say I was pissed is an understatement. He stopped in the clearing and turned to face me. I jumped over him, flying through the air. I landed on the ground, going into a barrel-roll. I was on my feet in seconds and Matthew changed back into his human form. I trained my eyes on his face, ignoring his nudity. He raised his hands above his head. "I know, I know-" he began. A growl escaped my mouth and I crouched down. He took a step back. "Easy, Alice."
I shot forward, lunging at him. My fingers retracted around his throat, slamming into a tree. He winced in pain at the impact of the bark against his bare flesh. "I waited out here for you. You cannot keep a time, just say so," I growled lowly, my teeth bared.
"I'm sorry, I just got caught up. Dammit will you let go of my throat?!" I stared into his eyes, a calm breeze brushed some of my hair into my eyes. I loosened my grip on his throat and stepped away, glaring at him. I groaned, running my fingers through my hair. I rested my hands on my hips, slowly turning around to look at Matthew as he rubs his throat. "So what is it you're wanting out of the library?" I rolled my eyes in disdain.
"A book obviously," I replied sarcastically. I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration. I hated it when people were late. It pissed me off to no extent. "It's a book of...of like everything I guess is the best way to word it. The only problem is that it's in the Restricted Section of the library, and that damn bitch won't let me get to it." Matthew nodded his head and kept a good distance away from me.
"Alright well...why won't she let you get to it?"
"Because the school thinks that I am unstable and will go find my real parents and murder them." I took a deep breath and started to pace with my hands behind my back. "After what happened to Emily, there's no way they'd ever let me into that section. There's too many dark spellbooks in there. They think that if I get my hands on one, I'll go on a rampage and kill everyone. Which isn't fair."
"Well a vampire and witch mixture can be pretty lethal." I nodded my head.
"I guess, but I draw my power from drinking blood, and there isn't anything in any of the other books that I have looked at about witches. So maybe it's just...I don't know...I keep hoping that it's in that section. That book could tell me everything that I would need to know about what I am. Hell they won't even let me drink more than a pint of blood every other day. The burning in my throat doesn't go away with just a pint, I need more. Daily."
Matthew nodded his head and walked behind a tree. "Well I could talk to one of the headmasters and see if I can't get something worked out." I chuckled.
"Yeah I'm sure the golden boy can fix everything by talking to the superiors who want to lock me in solitary confinement until the day I die." He came back from around the tree fully clothed.
"I was just offering, Alice. What are you wanting to do then? I can't just waltz into the library and demand to see the Restricted Section. No one can except those with clearance by the headmasters." I nodded my head, taking a deep breath.
"I know. That's why we are going to break in." Matthew's eyes widened.
"What?" I nodded my head, a smirk playing on my lips.
"You heard me. You're going to help me break into the library." He crossed his arms over his chest, looking amused.
"And if I refuse?" I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't one to blackmail, nor threaten unless I was in peril.
"Nothing happens. You just become a disappointment like everyone else. Someone who I will never count on for anything. Just like the rest of the world." Matthew's face fell.
