!BEEP

       BEEP

              BEEP!

My eyes slowly opened to the horrendous sound of my alarm blaring. I reached over to my phone, which was sitting on my nightstand, and picked it up to check the time. I let out a strangled groan. 6am. It should honestly be illegal to make people get up this early.

I dropped my phone back down and turned over to stare at my ceiling. Second day of school. Yay..

I stayed there for awhile just staring off at nothing. Yesterday wasn't that bad. It actually went really good to be honest. Sian and Nathan were really nice. I wonder if they actually like me or if they can just tell that im a loser and they feel bad for me. I bet they just feel bad.

I could feel my chest getting tighter. Shit. What if they don't even talk to me today. Thats fine. I mean it'll suck but it's fine. I don't need friends. I'm fine by myself.

Fuck

Taking a deep breath and shaking the bad thoughts away, I stood up and stretched. After getting all those cracks out of my frail old man body, I went to go grab my outfit for the day, which was basically the same thing as yesterday. White long sleeve under a black uniform shirt and black skinny jeans. I know, I know.. I'm a freaking fashionista.

I walked into the bathroom and splashed some water on my face, before grabbing my toothbrush. After brushing my teeth, I stared at my reflection for a few moments. I looked like shit. My eyes had dark circles and I had a pimple coming in under my chin. Looking over at my bottle of face cleanser I contemplated whether I had the energy to wash my face or not.

I did not.

I sighed and walked back to my room and gathered my backpack and my phone. I triple checked that everything was there because I am a nervous wreck and I'm scared of even forgetting one little thing. As I was checking my bag, I found the Twix that Sian had bought me yesterday. I had completely forgotten about it.

I pulled it out and checked to see if it had melted. It hadn't, probably cuz my room was so cold. I unwrapped it and took a bite. Yummyyyy. A Twix will suffice for breakfast today.

I closed my bag and swung it over my shoulder, grabbed my phone and slipped it into my pocket and headed downstairs.

As I reached the bottom of the stairs I was greeted by my mom who was frantically digging through the couch cushions, muttering to herself.

"You okay mom," I asked.

"Huh," she glanced up at me, "Oh, I lost my freaking phone. I can't find it anywhere."

"You want me to call it," I offered. "Yes please, I've been looking all morning."

I pulled out my phone with my right hand and started to dial her number. My left hand was still occupied by the Twix bar that I was gingerly taking bites of.

After a second, a distant ringtone started playing. My mom stood up and chased after the sound. As I followed her into the downstairs bathroom the ringing got louder. On the floor behind the toilet was her phone. She quickly grabbed it and let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank god. I really thought I lost it for good."

She walked up to me and kissed me on the forehead," Thank you baby, you're a life saver. I'm sorry i didn't wake you up, I was busy freaking out," she chuckled.

"It's okay mom, I can wake myself up. I'm not a baby," I mumbled. "Aww you'll always be my baby boy," she pinched my cheek. I huffed a little before walking to the kitchen to grab a water bottle.
