Coming out from the hug, Arnav put back a serious facade. They had to find a way to tackle Shyam and reveal his truth to the family, and especially to Anjali. Arnav let out a heavy sigh :

"I think it would be better to tell Di right after the wedding. The sooner she knows, the better. But I'm afraid for your family's safety, Khushi. Shyam already cornered you beneath this roof, who knows what he could do outside. I could ask some bodyguards to come with you but I won't feel at peace."

Khushi was overwhelmed, he was not only thinking of her safety, but also of her family's. She was wondering how she managed to crack this tough nut. She felt a sudden urge to kiss him. Well, that was new, she never felt like that before. She chided herself for thinking of those kind of things at such a serious moment, and managed to reply :

"I don't think he'll stop, and if he knows about us ..." She stopped and looked at the ring on her finger, assuring herself that his confession wasn't a dream then resumed :

"He will become angrier, I'm afraid for you and for Anjali-ji as well. He was saying that Anjali-ji was the only hurdle between me and him. I'm afraid that he would hurt her, or you. I can't see any of you hurt because of his obsession for me. I don't know why he is behind me. I swear on my Devi Miya that I didn't give him any hope. Even when I was forced to be engaged to him, I told him that I never considered him as more than a friend. He couldn't even put the ring on my finger thanks to the band aid you put on it ! But I don't know what to do. Di will be shattered, and you can't be happy if she is not."

Arnav felt his heart flutter hearing her care, and she was unknowingly accepting their new relationship by calling his sister "Di".

But he has to think straight, to find a way to protect everyone. He doesn't know how far Shyam could go, and he isn't ready to stay ideal to find out. He will call his trusted manager Aman first thing in the morning, and ask him to arrange a PI. But Khushi was right on one thing, they couldn't just tell everyone without any proof. Even if the Guptas were ready to tell everything Shyam did to get Khushi to accept his proposal, he was feeling that the moron was hiding more secrets and wanted to know everything before proceeding further. If he had the guts to cheat on ASR's sister, he surely had a strong backup.

The only solution that came to his mind was going to cost the girl he loved yet another one of her dreams, but he couldn't do otherwise. He knew she would trust his decision.

" You're right, we can't tell everyone before having enough proof. But I can't let you alone when I know how this man is obsessed with you. Khushi, I have only one solution, and you'll have to trust me on this."

She tilted her head, waiting for him to continue, and he did looking straight into her eyes.

"Let's get married tonight. I will manage everyone and tell them that I don't like all these functions and rituals anyway. I know it's too soon, I just told you we could wait. We've just expressed our feelings and this is a big step but I need to know that you're safe and sound by my side and this is the only way I can think of. I know that you have dreams about your wedding, and you are probably not ready but I can assure you that you won't be force to do any bahu stuff or sacrifice anything, the same goes for your sister, there are enough servants in this house, you both can work or study or do anything as per your wish. And concerning our relationship, you'll be the one dictating the pace. I don't want you to feel embarrassed to share anything with me"

Khushi was puzzled, she knew he was right, being with him is the safest place  she could be in. But all this was so new to her, this new caring avatar of his was too overwhelming and the family will be shocked to know about their love, or so she thought. Anyway, they didn't really have any other option, and they would have gotten married anyway, so today was as good as any other day. Plus, she was happy that he was not pushing her too far in their relationship.
