After letting the elders talk to the workers about the adjustments to be done to hold a second wedding, Arnav and Khushi led their siblings to Arnav's room. They wanted to inform them about all the happenings. When they were all in, Arnav locked the door. As soon as he did, Payal hit Khushi on her forehead and Akash threw a pillow on Arnav's head. Khushi and Arnav protested at the same time at the assault and the other two laughed out loud, hugging their respective sibling.
NK stayed unusually quite in a corner of the room, next to the french door. He is still digesting the fact that Khushi doesn't like him and prefers his cousin, despite their totally opposite personalities. Not that he isn't happy to see them happy, he sure is. Both are dear to him after all, and he only started liking Khushi. But he needs some time to let the news sink in and isn't ready to joke around right away.
Arnav somehow understood his cousin's feeling and tried to divert all the attention from him. They had more important things to discuss after all.
Before getting to the main talk, Khushi looked at Payal and Akash with an apologetic smile :
"Jiji, jeeja-ji, I hope you're not feeling bad because of our decision. It was supposed to be your special day and we don't want you to feel as if we were trying to steal the light from you"
She reached to pull Arnav's hand at the end. And this gesture didn't go unnoticed by the others, who were now understanding the real dynamics between the couple. They realized that they have always been close to each other. They just had to let go of their egos for their love to shine in front of everyone.
Payal Smiled, knowing too well her little sister's nature, she always put everybody else first. So, she wanted to reassure her:
"Pagal! when do you even get those ideas from. I'm more than happy Khushi. After all, I'll have my little sister as my Jeetani-ji. Remember how we used to talk about marrying brothers? So how can I be upset about our dream coming true. What do you think, Akash-ji?"
"I don't know if I'm okay"
He said with a fake disappointed tone. The other looked at him in shock
"After all, my own brother was in love for such a long time and didn't feel like telling me, while I confided in him regarding my own love story"
He finished in a dramatic way.
The others were relieved that it was just a joke, but Arnav knew that he had to end this fun and bickering session.
"Speaking of trust : We have something important to tell you. Unfortunately, this will be very hard to hear, so please sit down first."
He said going back to his serious self. The other three obeyed, puzzled and sat on the edge of his bed while he gently pulled Khushi to sit beside him on his recliner, facing them.
" Akash, you were asking me why I didn't tell you about my feelings for Khushi earlier. Well, that's because I didn't accept it myself, until today. When Di got into that accident, she made me realise that life is too short to let my fears and ego ruin my future. So I looked for Khushi and found her at the terrace..."
All were curious to know where this was leading to. But Khushi sensed his uneasiness and squeezed his hand to provide him the needed support and he resumed:
"Shyam had cornered her and told her that he didn't love Di and wanted to leave her to be with Khushi"
To say that the others were shocked would be an understatement, especially NK and Akash who had no idea about Khushi's relationship with Shyam.
