15- The beans have been spilled

" And when did you all think to tell us ?"

Mami's voice held disappointment, hurt and anger. She was on her way to bring juice to Anjali in her room, but she didn't find her there. So Manorama Bond was on a mission to find her niece, and hearing Anjali's voice coming from Arnav's room, she decided to eavesdrop. She was shocked to hear Anjali's talk about her husband and waited to know more. Hearing Arnav and Khushi's explanations, she became angrier by the second. Angry at the man that was hurting her niece and cheating on her whole family, portraying himself as a perfect son in law, angry at the Gupta family who watched them knowing everything and not telling her and Nani and angry at her children, who thought they were men enough to handle everything on their own, not even telling their sister. Deep down, she understood the Guptas' state and the reason they didn't tell anyone, especially after Arnav's talk, but she still felt betrayed and she surely will tell that to Garima and Madumathi!

On the other side of the room, Arnav Khushi and Anjali were looking at her in shock, they didn't expect anyone to hear them. They were all thinking about the way to break it up to the family, and now they had to do it without waiting for any other proof. But that also meant having a plan to take care of Shyam, and they didn't have all the details about him yet, the PI was still constructing a file against him. So they all had a huge amount of work to do before the end of that day. But for the moment, talking to the family was more urgent.

Arnav chose to take the matter in his hand immediately and not beat around the bush.

"Mami, what you've heard is right, and we're sorry we didn't tell any of you yet. The only reason is that we don't know the extent of Shyam's crimes. We already know he's a cheat and probably a fraud, but we need to find out more. I've hired a PI to investigate his past and he is supposed to give me a first report tomorrow, and we were planning to tell you all depending on what was on the report. Our only goal was to protect you. And Mami, I don't know whether you've heard everything or not, but I want you to know that the Gupta family is as much a victim as ours so please, don't say anything hurtful to anyone. The only culprit here is Shyam, and we will find a way to make him pay for everything!"

Mami listened to him silently, buy she wasn't done yet

Manorama wasn't totally pleased with his answer but she knew better than to go against her nephew. So she nodded, still sulking. Deep down, she knew he was right, she would probably have acted the same as Garima and Madumathi if she was in their place, but Anjali was her only daughter and she was afraid she would act like her late mother and end her life because of the man she loved.

But Anjali is not Ratna and she will soon prove it to everyone!

" Chote, I think I'm the one who should tell them. After all, it's about my life and my husband. But you're right, we have to decide how to act back home. I don't think we can expose him and throw him out without proof. Moreover, you said that your investigators will give you their report in two days, so we can wait. I can pretend to sleep with Nani tomorrow night because she doesn't feel well.
